If these are aliens, it may very well be that the elite have sold us out to them for their own safety, this might explain their zeal for disarming us all....
Why do the aliens have lights on their interplanetary craft?
Why do so many UFO s have ( PRESUMABLY ) navigation lights ? has the reach of Earth`s governmental regulations spilled into the rest of the cosmos ?
Doesn't explain the discs and motherships in the sky that show up in the historical records going back centuries.
Assuming aliens exist and have been visiting Earth, why wouldn't they?

To answer your mutual question: the lights are, of course, for safety. Every other world has already mastered interstellar travel. It’s a very busy universe out there, with all those aerodynamic triangles whizzing about. It’s for the (alien) chillren!

Navigation lights? Pray tell who navigates with their own lights? They have lights on them for the same reason we require lights on our own aircraft, so others don't blunder into them.

Just like the saucer model is used to suvail the desert regions (as well as crash in them), and the cylindrical model is used to buzz by planes (as well as occasionally emerge from the ocean). Every model has its place!

And assuming their craft travels in excess of the speed of light, their headlights would be useless anyway...........
