LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An argument at an L.A. strip club turned violent early Sunday when a man reportedly plowed his car into two men, requiring them to undergo leg amputations.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Sam’s Hofbrau strip club at 1751 East Olympic Boulevard, according to the LAPD.
The suspect reportedly rammed the men with his white BMW, pinning them against a black Mini-Cooper. The Mini-Cooper, which is said to belong to one of the employees, was then pushed up against a wall.
Police are treating the incident as a possible hate crime because the suspect, described as African American and in his 50s, reportedly made racial comments to the victims, who were both described as Latino, when the argument began inside the club.
Following the crash, the suspect sat for some time in his vehicle with his head slumped. He was placed under arrest.
CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Art Barron tried to speak with police and dancers at the club but no one would comment on the incident.
The victims were transported to a hospital where they are both undergoing surgery. A victim needs his right leg amputated above the knee and another man needs both of his legs amputated above the knee, the LAPD reported.
Doctors will reportedly try to repair their injuries and reattach the legs

Okay. I’m really confused now. “Black” guy driving a “white” beemer slams in to a “black” mini (also a bmw product?) crushing 2 hispanic guys (brown guys) against a wall. That really sucks for the “brown” guys. But how do they know it was “hate” and not just a “strong dislike”? A much lesser crime. Except for the part where the “brown” guys lose their legs. That still sucks. Another reason not to frequent strip clubs I guess.
Those legs should have been home sleeping instead of between a BMW and a Mini-Cooper.

Technically speaking, since BMW owns Mini, this sounds like more of a domestic squabble than a hate crime...

That is true. I wonder if these guys were white Latinos? If so, maybe they will be the ones charged with a hate crime, for getting in the way of the other guys car.
