It has just enjoyed one of the most successful installments of its 50 year run.
So it will come as no surprise to fans that studio bosses have confirmed a 24th James Bond movie will hit cinemas within the next three years.
Daniel Craig, 45, will pull on his tuxedo once again, as he has already signed up to appear as the secret agent in two more films.

Ralph Fiennes is the new M.
Ralph Fiennes (a.k.a. Gareth Mallory) will play ‘M’ in the next Bond film, as depicted in the final scene of “Skyfall”...
That’s a good choice. Although I still think of him as Amon Goth from Schindler’s List.
I can also see Liam Neeson in the role of ‘M’...

He also can project that hint of ruthlessness and violence that Connery had as well. There's that scene from Dr. No where Connery tells Professor Dent "That's a Smith and Wesson...and you've had your six" and the proceeds to kill him in cold blood. Moore never had it, neither did Brosnan. But Craig does, and I can see him doing the same job on Dent that Connery did.
Connery is Scottish. Didn’t hurt, even though I guess we did learn that Bond grew up in Scotland.
I love those British shows also. I didn’t care that much for the Downton Abbey series since they are trying to be so PC with the queer butler plot. The modern British period dramas are awful.
The Bond movies had become so formulaic and cliche, that they were becoming parodies of themselves with the Roger Moore movies.
The Timothy Dalton movies showed some promise, but couldn't let go of the be-gadgeted, Don Juan, it didn't help that Dalton just couldn't pull it off.
The Pierce Brosnan movies started to introduce some serious grit, but it was the exception, not the rule.
Daniel Craig's Bond started out rough and unrefined/defined. Relying on action over gadgets and having no uncanny luck or magical allure over women, just raw masculinity.
Yet the United Kingdom had been involved in the whole IRA - Northern Ireland squabble, which as far as we know ended decades ago, yet there's still some bad feelings and sentiments between the Catholics and Protestants of the region...
I was thinking that perhaps bringing an Irishman such as Neeson in as 'M' would be interesting because he's such a gifted actor -- but he'd have to lose the accent.
Others might think that it would a 'slap in the face' to MI6...
Maybe he could be the next villain?? ;-)

I thought the choice of Eve Moneypenny was excellent, and the way they introduced her was outstanding. I think she will be much better than any of her predecessors in the role and her banter with Bond has already surpassed the others.

That's a great question. It certainly appeared it was going that way, but we didn't get any confirmation.
It is funny that in the old BBC series you had sex, but it isn't like today BBC series. (For instance, on 'Are You Being Served', Mr. Humphries was gay living with his mom, and Mrs. Slocombe is always talking about 'her pussy'), now Downtown Abby has a gay butler...it isn't as funny.
Tim Dalton was the last decent Bond.
I have to agree with your assessment of Moore/Brosnan, but every time I watch a Brosnan-led Bond movie I kinda like him more & more in the role. He grows on me.
I watched “The Living Daylights” last night (as part of the G4 Network’s ‘21 Days of Bond’ marathon), and I still like Timothy Dalton, despite his stale demeanor. I think he played the role more as a “spy’s spy”, and I like that.
I’ve also enjoyed reminiscing about the old Soviet Union and the Cold War. Looking at maps of these countries that no longer exist make me yearn somewhat for the Cold War, only in terms of the US-British-USSR power and rivalry.

Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. Less funny lines and more realism are what I like. He is much more physically able to do the stunts and play the part than anyone else that played the role.
However, the time factor is running. In Skyfall he was a much older Bond. They need to hurry up with the next two films before he ages too much.
I would like to see Charles Dance in the next Bond movie.
M is not the head of Mi6, only the 00 section. I have doubts and misgivings that Bond even works for MI6 in the Flemings books as claimed by some fanboys, but they refuse to listen to reason. It has been branded by the producers that Bond works for Mi6 in the movies starting with Brosnan Bond.
