The 12 WORST party schools in the country
MSN Now ^ | 03/24/2013

Posted on 04/04/2013 2:42:14 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

It seems as though it's the crazy party schools get all the attention these days. But what about the many tame and civilized schools out there which remain completely under the radar with absolutely no stories of late-night shenanigans or poor-decision making? Well, they stay under the radar until they repeatedly get put on lists of the colleges with the worst party scenes in the country, like this one. Below, see what real students on College Prowler had to say about their schools' nightlife:

1. GROVE CITY COLLEGE, Grove City, Penn.

Despite a zero tolerance for alcohol policy and the fact that students of the opposite sex are only allowed to visit rooms during designated weekend hours, many students love campus life at Grove City: "Pizza parties and ice cream socials offer a good excuse to leave the books behind." Others are less optimistic: "No fun to be found anywhere."

2. LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, Lynchburg, Va.

Responses to questions about Liberty's night life range from serious to serious. "Liberty doesn't need a nightlife! If you want to have fun you can go play video games in a friend's dorm room. But let's face it, college is for school work. You should probably be studying instead of partying," said one student. Another said, "We are here to get an education and obey the Liberty Way."

3. INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST, Gary, Ind.

"Night life is great! Alcohol isn't served so all students are able to attend all functions," said one happy student on College Prowler, giving a nice positive spin on the subject. Other students were more pragmatic about the nightlife scene in Gary: "It's Gary, Indiana."

Went to my wife’s college reunion (a staunch Lutheran school of long-standing) a while back - they put us up in the unused dorm suites (the school was empty for summer recess).

We had a six-pack of beer in a cooler in the common area. Saturday we got a notice on our door that no beer was allowed. We figured it was some kind of formality. On Sunday we got a RED notice on our door warning we’d be evicted if we didn’t get rid of the beer.

Sheesh! We were probably 3 times older than the RA.

The older I get, the more ridiculous college seems. Bring back apprenticeships. And plain old hard work.

Pepperdine not on the list

Well, maybe Malibu makes up for the lack of on-campus “partying...”

Sounds like a damn good list to start with picking your high school kid’s college. Most of them also make the list of best colleges for conservatives on yaf.org.

Top Party Schools for 2011, 2012 and 2013

Based on surveys taken from 122,000 students, the Princeton Review has released their 2013 annual rankings of colleges. By far the list that gets the most attention is the ranking of the top party schools in the nation. The ranking is generated based on survey questions relating to student use of alcohol and drugs, hours of study done each day, and the popularity of the Greek system at the school.

For 2013 West Virginia University ousted Ohio University for the top spot in Princton's ranking of top party schools, but Ohio Universiity came in at a close third. It's not surprise that West Virginia University is at the top of the list. Most of us know if you're looking for a great time, like to drink and like to party, West Virginia University is where it's happening. A few schools that are new to Princeton Review's list of party schools include Tennessee University, University of Maine, and James Madison University. And topping this years list of "Stone Cold Sober" schools, as usual, is BYU, as well as several other military academies.

College should be like an exclusive club where only the best of the best are invited.

Here’s a great story about an unapologetic conservative choosing to go to the source of the affirmative action fight in Michigan after bashing diversity.

When I went to GA Southern in the ‘80s, it often made the list of ‘best party schools’. I’m happy to have contributed to that statistic.

Many colleges take very seriously their mission of destroying any and all notions of morality that the students got from their parents or religious institution. Best way to do it is to make sure the alchohol flows freely and to give out free condoms.

Some college information in the above post.

You might like University of the South: programs in History and Classics, and they drink hard liquor ... or at least think they do, not having been deployed in the Pacific ...
