Olympia Beer $1M Reward for Bigfoot

US brewer offers $1m Bigfoot reward

US brewer Olympia Beer is offering US $1 million for “the safe return of “Bigfoot”. The year-long contest has started in “an effort to highlight the proud histories of both Bigfoot and Olympia Beer in the [US] Northwest”.

The grand prize of $1m, will be paid to any person who finds “irrefutable evidence” of Bigfoot’s existence in compliance with the contest’s official rules.

The brewer has joined forces with Bigfoot experts at The Falcon Project for the contest, which promises to be one of the most comprehensive searches for the mysterious beast.

Evan and Daren Metropoulos, owners of Pabst Brewing Company and Olympia Beer, said: “We have been operating in the Northwest since 1896, so we know firsthand how important Bigfoot is to the people here.

“In addition to our desire to spur scientific discovery in partnership with The Falcon Project, we’re also simply encouraging people to get outside and have some fun.”

On its website the brewer emphasises that the contest is focused on the safe capture of Bigfoot, it states: “When we say safe capture that means Bigfoot has to be alive and breathing folks, with no wounds. That’s right you can’t use any act of violence, no guns/knives/boxing gloves/nets/etc, only sugar or sweets to lure him in.”

The contest rules state that Bigfoot “refers to a previously undiscovered species of upright, bipedal hominid, native to North America existing contemporaneously with the Contest Period or the twenty-five (25) year period immediately prior to the Contest Period.”

In terms of evidence the judging panel said: “Evidence may include, but is not limited to DNA Evidence. DNA Evidence may include hair, blood, tissue or saliva that proves the DNA sequence of the donor shows that said donor resides in the primate evolutionary family tree, among other apes or hominids, but does not have the same genetic markers and DNA sequence as any known species.

“Evidence may also include ‘Visual Proof’ of a live physical body. Any photo or video taken with photographic or video equipment is not sufficient to qualify as evidence in and of itself for consideration in the contest, but may be considered as supporting evidence.”

The contest is running for one year, finishing at the end of March 2014 and the website states that the $1m reward will be payable at $25,000 per year for 40 years.

There will never be a Bigfoot capture dead or alive. We would have found one hit by a car by this time. It is all a cottage industry in the fantasy world of the Unicorn Farm.

At least I know about History.

George W. Bush a brave compassionate conservative black man traveled the Oregon trail, because the progressive state of Missouri did not want him to vote. Technically Bush's father born in India, was of African decent, but his mother was an Irish maiden.

After liberal hardships and injustice Bush decided to get the heck out of that hell hole, so he kickstarted a campaign and raised funding for wagons, supplies and some horses, In order to get his friends to come with him, he promised them more freedom and a great beer bash in portlandia if they would all come.

After four months of indians and other wild creatures Bush got to the great Portlandia, but sadly it turned out that he had underestimated the hatred of freedom which had spread even to the ends of the continent.

When the Bush convoy reached the Oregon Country, but found that the hipsters and other liberals had just passed laws which forbid Bush from owning any land or even his guns.

Fortunately Bush was connected to a british company called Hudsons Bay. They told him if he would just cross the river and get to the other side, he could settle into the virgin territory just north. They said while it would be dangerous, but that there was lots of wild beaver, and no known political weasels.

Bush crossed the river and eventually settled in tumwater and soon after started drinking the water. The same water which would someday be used to brew the Fine Olympia Beer we know today.
WE still do not know if “It Was the Water”, or perhaps something more, but after a time Bush thought that he had built successful logging business, sawmill, even a town, when suddenly a group of politicians got together and told him that “he didn't build this” To this day there are legends of how he haunted the territorial legislature in Olympia until they him unambiguous title to all his forest lands.

Thank god we have mandated fluoride in the water today

It would have been more appropriate for Jack Link’s Beef Jerky to sponsor this. Their commercials are really funny.

You can't catch an extra-dimensional being - DUH! It's like trying to catch a cat by drawing a box on the floor with chalk.

The best you can hope for is for Steve Austin, the Bionic Man, to win her heart.

And to think ... the US Govt. could have foregone spending $6 million for a bionic man and instead have offered up six $1 M rewards for the capture of six Bigfoots. (snark)

Hey this is a good idea.

I like it. Have often wondered whether this is all just fluff, or whether it’s real.

One year. One million dollars. I think that’s enough to make a real difference.

For real.

If Bigfoot is real, we should know by this time next year. If not, well we should know by this time next year.

:D

Bigfoot Trap Applegate Lake southern Oregon June 2009

Southern Oregon is home to what is most likely the only official Bigfoot trap in the world. The ten by ten structure was built back in the early 70s by special permit. A wildlife research team out of Eugene, Oregon was inspired to build the structure by sightings from far back as the late 18-hundreds to up to the time they constructed the trap.

It wasnt an early task. In 1974, Applegate dam that now impounds Applegate lake didnt even exist and the hike up to the construction site was a long and hard one from the valley below.

Fortunately today access to the trap is a relatively comfortable hike. The Collings Mountain Trail, is named for one of the pioneer mining families that came to Southern Oregon in the 1850s.

The Collings Mountain Trail (No. 943) is easy to spot just about 300 feet past the Hart-Tish Park entrance. The Bigfoot track on the trail marker on the right hand side of the road lets you know you are at the trailhead.
