Sir Colin Davis dies aged 85 (orchestra conductor)

The president of the London Symphony Orchestra, Sir Colin Davis, has died.

Davis, who first conducted the LSO in 1959, died on Sunday after a short illness at the age of 85.

I have his Sibelius symphony cycle. In fact it’s the only Sibelius symphony cycle I have - at least for now.

Congress has a total of 535 voting members: 435 members in the House of Representatives and 100 members in the Senate.

Like they don't orchestrate your life? And if they passed, like they could pass anything meaningful, it should be to the great Beyonce.

In 1971, I had a week’s leave after getting discharged from the hospital in Germany. Spent it in London, and managed to score a ticket to the Last Nigh of the Proms...Davis was the conductor... one of the most amazing and awesome musical experiences of my lifetime. Victoria and Albert Hall was just unreal..the entire audience having the time of their lives..
