A small plane landed near the third hole at Westlake Golf Course Monday afternoon, according to workers at the course.
Three passengers were traveling in the single-engine Cessna, said Deputy Mark Pope, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. At least one person was injured.
It happened about 2:10 p.m. in the 4800 block of Lakeview Canyon Road in West Lake Village (map).
It was the second rough landing by a small plane in Los Angeles in three days.
On Saturday, a plane with landing gear problems was guided to a safe landing on its belly into Van Nuys Airport.
On Monday, workers at the golf course pro shop say they had just dispatched a group to the first hole, but were unsure how many golfers were on the course when the plane went down.
Employees said they did not hear an explosion prior to the plane landing but the sound of a low-flying aircraft scared golfers off the driving range and into the shop.
Shortly after the Cessna landed in Westlake Village, firefighters spotted aircraft debris on the site of a small wildfire that was quickly extinguished in Calabasas. Three people on the plane suffered minor injuries, LA County Fire Department Inspector Quvondo Johnson told the Associated Press.
It was not immediately clear if the fire in Calabasas and the plane in Westlake were connected.
Talk about landing the rough!
I’d have played through.
Golly, I hope it didn’t interrupt Soetoro’s round..!
That would be Zero’s shout out, “for warned”!
The pilot should have taken a Mulligan.
Air Force One?
“Excuse me, can I play through?”

When playing the East to West holes, one had to look to make certain that no planes were coming in, or readying for take off. The good news is that there were giant "wind socks" so you could always judge the wind speed rather well...LOL!
