In an interview with Bloomberg TV from the Milken Global Conference in Beverly Hills, former Vice President Al Gore claims American democracy has been "hacked." Gore also opined on former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor recently commenting that she regretted her decision in Bush v. Gore.
"[America] has been hacked. That is a computer term when the operating system of a computer is taken over and the computer does things the owner does not want it to. That is what has been happening to American democracy. You have 90% of the people in favor of background checks for gun purchases and the congress is incapable of doing what the American people want. They have not been able to regulate these phony baloney financial derivatives that caused the financial crisis. They voted to invade Iraq even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Unfortunately there are a lot of examples. They can't pass a budget. I can't keep the country from facing financial danger and the main reason is simple, the influence of the money is at un-healthy levels," Gore said.

Just to be sure this doesn't get buried. Can anyone imagine where we would be had this lunatic been elected in 2000?
We would have been screwed!....oh wait. Never mind.
But we did get a few more "good" years in before the whirlwind.

For once Gore is right - we have been hacked. But as usual, he gets the reasons all backwards.

Which brings to mind....we as conservatives need to find a way to link fat-burgers to global warming. It’s called MAD....mutually assured dieting...ha ha...

The FACTS are, the American “democracy” is actually a Constitutional republic that was carefully *designed* to prevent what Al wants to inflict on us — a tyranny of the majority.

Where does this 90% favor background checks number come from? Did they just pull it out of thin air?
In Gore’s fevered, Walter Mitty-inspired imagination, he did the noble thing by gracefully accepting his defeat rather than dragging the country through a divisive battle.

I think they just poll each other. People don't like them, so they don't get out much.
I think they had a public opinion poll that someone did on whether or not people support background checks for gun purchases. Then, they create the idea through the media that there are no background checks for gun purchases right now. Since most people have never bought a gun, they don’t have any idea about NICS etc.
Even my dad, who loves shooting my guns when we go to the range, was suckered in by this until I explained to him that the only sales where there aren’t background checks are sales between private individuals. Those sales are not how the majority of these left-wing lunatics like Loughner get the guns they acquired to go on their shooting sprees.
All I know is that if my polar bear dies....me and Al are gonna really tear down the place.
