Poll: 29% Think Armed Rebellion Might Soon Be Necessary

Three in 10 registered American voters believe an armed rebellion might be necessary in the next few years, according to the results of a staggering poll released Wednesday by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind.

The survey, aimed at measuring public attitudes toward gun issues, found that 29 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” An additional five percent were unsure.

Eighteen percent of Democrats said an armed revolt “might be necessary,” as compared to 27 percent of independents and 44 percent of Republicans. Support levels were similar among males and females but higher among less educated voters.

Don’t take that as fact. Very many of us with college degrees at various levels believe this is becoming more and more possible and many of us are getting ready to defend the Constitution and reestablish the Republic. Among those of us who are prior or retired military there are even more. We swore to protect and defend the Constitution and many of us still hold that oath as a responsibility.

My mistake; I wasn't paying close attention, and took it as 'college students' (young skulls full of mush) instead of graduates (even though I used 'graduates' in my response...). Cutting back on coffee now... :-)

That’s what I was gonna say. Now I have nothing else to bump this thread with.

Our ancestors would have been shooting by now.

Many in the gray-hair set at the Pentagon absolutely feel this way. TC

That’s about all it took in 1776. One third Patriot, one third neutral or at least too scared and unsure to participate, and one third Tory. As much an American Civil War as a Revolution, especially in the South.

"I believe that for the American Revolution at any given time the percentage of the population actively involved in it was about 10% or so."

Some say III percent.

The armed rebellion will have to wait until Walmart restocks their ammo shelves...

According to the Sipsey Street Irregulars, during the American Revolution, the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists.

They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it.

Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came.

What I find most surprising is not the numbers, but the fact that a reputable polling outfit even asked the question. Evidently the issue is now so prominent that it can no longer be ignored.

As Mike Vanderboegh says, we're on our way to creating a class of people we haven't seen in over 100 years: Civil War veterans.

Support levels were similar among males and females but lower among left-wing indoctrinated college grad voters.

I have a feeling that Obambi's handlers are NOT going to give up the White House and will allow American citizens, particularly "white" citizens to be murdered in the streets, if not by "black" mobs, then by the American military . . . hence the reason for the incredible stockpile of weapons and ammo.

Obambi's too stupid to do this himself, so he, the sockpuppet, will have his handlers do all the logistics.

If you factor in the 'neithers' and the 'unsures', the real number anticipating armed revolution is about 35%.

What percentage of those NOT in agreement ACCEPT LOSING THEIR LIBERTIES????? Frightening. But then again, we are ALL accepting it because we allow it to continue.

A bloodless military coup would be so much cleaner but I do not know if there are any military people with the cojones to do it what with all of the firings and forced retirements.

I think it was actually 3% under arms. I guess depends how you count. (silent supporters providing food, shelter, info, political support, etc,,)

You remark is so blatantly offensive, it makes me wonder if you are actually on the other side. That kind of talk is not conservative. Sounds like what an “occupier” thinks conservatives sound like.

Being employed, military, by the Gubmint makes it very difficult to think about losing your pension. It’s like trying to change social security when the majority of the people, voters, are at the door step of collecting it.
