Poll: 29% Think Armed Rebellion Might Soon Be Necessary

Three in 10 registered American voters believe an armed rebellion might be necessary in the next few years, according to the results of a staggering poll released Wednesday by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind.

The survey, aimed at measuring public attitudes toward gun issues, found that 29 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” An additional five percent were unsure.

Eighteen percent of Democrats said an armed revolt “might be necessary,” as compared to 27 percent of independents and 44 percent of Republicans. Support levels were similar among males and females but higher among less educated voters.

The problem with this is that is what the musliim sleeper cells in the US are probably waiting for (planning on/fomenting?).

I think if “Americans” started shooting they would be very nervous...

Boy, I didn’t know that my ancestors were in the minority. Seven of them fought in various militias against the King and several others provided forts and food for Washington’s army.

Absolutely laughable. Very few people will even get off the couch to attend a Tea Party rally — in the sunshine. For most Americans the next TV sitcom or sports event is more important that protecting our liberties.

I hope this poll is accurate. IF 1 in 3 feel that way then they also understand why and what for.

DHS is buying ammo, but so is everyone else.

Success will be dependent upon motivation. DHS may be fooling us, but they sure don’t seem overly motivated.

If SHTF, there will be very little gunfire before its all done.

If/When this happens, it will probably be the first revolution in history that will be to restore a government and constitution.

Polls like this are pretty much worthless. Pollsters can call and get people to say all sorts of things. When Bush was in office huge chunks of people (Democrats mostly) would respond to polls saying they think the government was behind 9-11. You can poll people and get them to say Obama is the anti-Christ. Half the country probably doesn’t even know who the Vice President is and 80%+ couldn’t name both their Senators.

29% of people (including apparently 18% of Democrats) may say they think armed rebellion “might soon be necessary”, but the reality is very few people are actually willing to do it. Yes, there is a lot of bluster on some internet sites from the keyboard commando community, but 99% of them aren’t going to do squat.

Usually the purpose of these polls is to make the American public look like unhinged, redneck nutters. PPP is usually behind these surveys, though it looks like Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind did this one.

Damn straight. I’ve two Bachelors and a Masters degree. I’ve been in the 29% believe a revolution is inevitable camp since there were just two of us.

If you are familiar with the old joke about the various body parts arguing as to which was the most important, wait until the elites have do do without all the stuff and services provided by those “less educated voters”.

To the elite, “less educated” means no sheepskin from a college.

They have no idea as to the amount of training & experience needed to make & keep a modern, industrial (or agricultural, for that matter) society functioning smoothly.

Most college programs in recent history do not train you to produce anything. Many each you WHAT to think, but not necessarily HOW to think.

Claire Wolf used to say it was too late to vote and too early to stop shooting. But times do change.
