Gloria Chubb of South Bend, Indiana, was shocked when she discovered a toad in a can of Meijer green beans. Chubb told WBND ABC 57 that she was in a rush that day and didn’t notice the amphibian until after she emptied the can and microwaved the green beans. She said, "My son put some on his plate and said, ‘What is that?’ I thought maybe it was a piece of moldy bacon or something-- because they have bacon in them sometimes…I and I took it out of there and it wasn't moldy bacon, it was a toad with parts of his little legs all in the green beans. Other than that he was fully intact."

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a label on a can of green beans that references protein content. I’ve drawn a line in the sand on canned or bottled products from countries outside the U.S. and just quit buying them. Even some stuff made in the U.S. now takes like crap - thanks to Mochelle and the FDA.

I would expect this to haapen with foreign canned foods but rare in food items canned in the U.S. Note: I did NOT say it never happens in the U.S. but that it is rare when you consider the number of containers canned and/or sealed here.

I thought maybe it was a piece of moldy bacon or something— because they have bacon in them sometimes…

“And just what is that ugly white slab in a can of beans???

It’s the queen bean. And all of the other beans are the worker beans that serve her.”
