A high ranking source at Cumulus radio told the Radio Ink that 48 out of 50 advertisers gave orders to exclude “Rush and Hannity” from their packages. Of course, the radio company that distributes Limbaugh’s show released a statement that the claim is “completely inaccurate.”
There was talk earlier this week that Limbaugh’s relationship with Cumulus was in danger given the major advertising boycott he incited after calling Sandra Fluke a slut on the air. The boycott allegedly cost ABC Radio $5.5 million. …

Seattle's conservative talker market is so bad that they added BACK one of the oldest cons. talkers in the US, known as KVI570. (they dropped talk in favor of oldies and got trashed). They are back to two strong talk stations.

Cumulus also dropped ESPN and substituted CBS Sports in my market. SeeBS is a quantum worse. What is Cumulus doing, trying to out-Penny J C Penny? A race to the bottom? Making room for a resurgent Air America?

In my lifetime, the heyday of talk radio was that period from 1985 to around 1995. It's been all downhill since.
Hot Talk KSFO in San Francisco has risen to the #1 talk radio staion. In SF no less! They are credited with starting the successful Grey Davis recall (removing the liberal Grey Davis from office).

48 of 50 is 96 of 100... which is to say, if four percent is enough to pay bills and pad the account who cares what the other 96 % are doing... exposure is the key... what other show claims to hold a 20mil listenership.

Possibly. I'll never know. Talk Radio drove me away when they went to their standard 50/50 format.
50% talk and 50% commercials, weather and traffic. Mostly commercials. Chopped up shows with no continuity. The web is better. FR is way better.
