Here’s another reason to be annoyed at hipsters: They’re driving up the price of beer.

A recent study has found that the price of low- and mid-range beers has been climbing at U.S. bars and restaurants. And the guy who oversaw the study for Massachusetts-based research firm Restaurant Sciences said he thinks the popularity of Pabst Blue Ribbon could be the cause.

“While all the attention has been on craft beers, the price of mainstay brands in the mid-price tier have risen more dramatically,” Research Sciences President Chuck Ellis said. …

I think that Pabst used to be a very popular beer in Texas and Oklahoma and such, and widely on tap.

Back then premium beer was Miller High Life and Schlitz and Bud I guess, and Michelob was like the moneyed, fancy man’s beer.

OK, WTH is a "hipster", some new form of grunger?

As if there were not enough versions of low-info voters scattered around. Hopefully these new ones are not homo at least...........

I don’t get it. PBR used to be the cheapest beer I could get at a few bars. Then the price started to go up so the bar would make more money. Assuming the bar didn’t want people hangin’ out all night on the cheap cheap stuff. Depending on where one is at I find some of the prices for beer to be ridiculous - especially if their is decent live music.

the way things are headed - (not advocating this stuff)
Future USA - no smoking - no drinking - worse than the USSR and 20th century communism - authoritarian states.

No escape in the liberal dystopia - The evil that is planned is too much for the average mind to take in and contemplate - Then get labeled a crazy hater for openly mentioning or speculating on the future - letting the cat outta..

The cheapest beer you'll find here is PBR or Tecate, which you can get for around three bucks in a halfway decent bar. Anything else in New York amounts to petty larceny.

Been drinking Pabst since college, and the bars in downtown L.A. openly serve it. They sell it at Rite Aid for $6.99 for a 12 pack, especially for the long weekend.

The one in green looks doable.

The one in red needs different eyeglasses.

I am 42. My friends are always giving me a hard time because I drink Pabst. They call it old man’s beer. But I like it.

Perhaps your beer goggles aren't working properly. :-)
