“Ketchup on a hotdog is worse than low esteem. Its downright disgusting. :-)”
Almost the exact words of Inspector Harry Callahan. The name of that Dirty Harry film escapes me.
Anyway, top it with mustard (almost any kind), relish & onions. Castleberry’s chili topping is an option.
Hebrew National kosher dogs preferred.

I’m right there with you. Typically I will use less ketchup than mustard, but I have always liked both on hot dogs. Relish sometimes as well.
If we talk Bratwurst, that’s a different game, then it depends on the brat.

Now we are getting to the Heart of the food dilemma, fried clams. How could any right thinking New Englander eat batter dipped fried Clams?
I have lived in New England most of my life and have never eaten a batter dipped fried clam, never. I think that batter dipped clams were thought up by the same clowns who invented Manhattan clam chowder.

Show me a man who puts ketchup on a hot dog and I’ll show you a complete barbarian. A fully dressed dog has mustard, relish, onions, sliced tomato, kosher pickle, and celery salt. Peppers are optional, but OK.

Every year for Christmas my in laws give us a gallon of Chivetta’s and 5 lbs of Sahlens hot dogs.
I have friends that send us the Cleavland Browns brown mustard from time to time as well. Not a fan of the Browns, but I do love the mustard.

“Ketchup doe not belong on a hot dog.”
I’d argue that it doesn’t belong anywhere.
