RIP Deacon....*smiles*..the object of one of the best pranks ever pulled on a football player..the tutu caper.
Listen carefully to what Deacon says! It's amazing that NFL films let this slip through!!!!

RIP Deacon. One of the best to ever play the game.
I loved pro football back then, but not as much now. The Rams were one of my favorite teams back then. Talk about some cool names: Deacon Jones, Roman Gabriel, etc.
Very strange to me because, with a few computer-ish changes, “Fearsome Foursome” happens to be the phrase around which I constructed one of my recent log on passwords. RIP Deacon. You bring back fond memories.
RIP.
Still remember him also from his appearance on the Brady Bunch! :)
As good a DE as I have ever seen play the game.
RIP Deacon.
Sad bump.
Wasn't that Rosy Grier?
I remember a game he had late in his career while playing for the Washington Redskins. They were playing a really crappy Chicago Bears team in the last game of the season. Washington was up 37-0 when they scored again. Their coach (I believe it was George Allen) sent Deacon out to kick the extra point. With barely the effort you or I would put into flicking a can out of our way he sent a screaming line drive right between the uprights. It would have been good from sixty yards.
Quite a way to cap off a career. Would not be equaled until Doug Flutie nailed that dropkick decades later.
R.I.P., Deacon.
He also appeared in “Heaven Can Wait” and was quite funny. Love that movie.
Please ping me with any Southern California related articles. Thank you!

Who left from Fearsome Foursome I think Rosey Grier still around
No, it was Deacon, in the episode “The Drummer Boy.”
I remember watching that game. It was the last game of the year in 74. I remember the announcers - I think it was Brookshire and Summerall - saying that Deacon Jones will say from now on how he won the game for the Skins.
RIP.
Yes, Rosey is the only one left from the original Rams Fearsome Foursome.
