COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah — Authorities say a Utah deer was mortally wounded after she mounted a moving sport bike during rush hour.

Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Scott Peck says the doe dashed into traffic about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and leaped onto the motorcycle.

Peck says the 19-year-old rider was knocked off and slid about 100 yards, while the bike kept going for about 300 yards.

The deer was disemboweled by the impact, fell from the motorcycle almost instantly and later succumbed to her injuries.

Police say the rider was wearing protective gear and appeared to suffer little more than road rash.

I have been a biker for 40 years, and this has never happened to me.

The best I could ever do was have a small Tornado go right through my front forks, flipping the bike and spinning it on the gear shift lever with the engine still running, somewhat reminiscent of a food processor.

I had the presence of mind to leap off the bike, and was picked up off the street by two Rastafarians who wrapped their own T-shirts around my road rashed arms, righted the Harley, put me on it and sent me home the 10 miles in first gear, in the pouring rain and dime-sized hail. This occurred at the extreme western corner of the Bermuda Triangle, at the corner of State Road 7 and Oakland Park Blvd, in the “Rough Section” of Town.

Other than that, nothing interesting ever happens to me.

Wow. That was a great experience. You had an angel with you that day. Reminds me of the time up in NY, when a tornado...about 2 -3 stories high came through our flea market. I was naive about them. When everyone saw it, they went for cover in the cars, whereever. What did I do? I ran to the cashbox table and threw myself over it. Watching the tarps and stuff fly as the tornado went by. It missed me almost completely. Everyone was stunned and told me I was nuts. I was. I know better now. lol

"Utah deer dies after mounting moving motorcycle"

Let's see...white tail, black tail, muley, caribou, fallow deer...I've heard of all these. Never heard of a Utah deer.

Oh...I get it. More lazy writing by one of today's so-called "journalists", none of whom see to have passed 3rd grade Language Arts.

Oh..Yes! To this day I refer to the Rastamen as “My Dreadlocked Angels”. I even went back to the neighborhood to thank them, and NOBODY knew who they were.

I think they REALLY were angels, mon.

You had then too, obviously! :-)

Dumbass deer. They have become vermin around here.

I had one big buck attack my pickup truck a year or so ago.

Came from behind as I was accelerating after I passed his group on the side of the road and head butted my door/ fender.

If I was riding a motorcycle, I’d have been impaled.

Whenever I ride where deer are likely I get paranoid. A friend of mine was killed on his Ultra Classic by a deer in a low-speed collision. Some will say that Deer Whistles don’t work, but I put them on my bike and I swear by them. Without whistles I would practically be on top of the deer before they saw or heard me. With the whistles I could see them raise their heads, look in my direction, and run off (away from me) more than 100 yards in advance.

Mandatory helmet law for deer.

There, fixed it.

Reminds of a joke involving a randy native American. Punch line was: “Ass too high, run too fast.”

I always thought these bikes were a bad idea.

I would consider that sufficient excitement, myself.

:)

Well....let’s put it this way:

I am SO rebellious that, even though I have been a biker and a rock musician for 40 years, I have absolutely NO ink.

However, if i ever decide to take the plunge, I have already designed my first tat...a tornado going through my front forks.

But I have also slid down the emergency slide of a 757, flew in a helicopter over an erupting volcano, flew and antique airplane, so I have seen some excitement in my day. LOL.
