BANFF, Alta. A Banff man took the phrase pics or it didnt happen to another level over the weekend when he managed to snap photos of a wolf chasing him down the highway while riding his motorcycle.
Tim Bartlett was travelling north on Hwy. 93 South in Kootenay National Park on Saturday afternoon when a wolf crossed a lane of traffic to try to intercept his motorcycle. Bartlett rode for another 100 metres up the highway before looking back to watch the wolf, which had stopped in the middle of the road before making its way back into the trees.

I guess this will help explain missing cyclists in the Calgary, Alberta, area. I wonder if the wolf has a preference for rice burners or Harleys?

I checked out the youtube on the story. The buffao actually got away although it had severe burns, apparently from one of the hot springs.
The rangers put it down the next day.

Im sure it ended up badly for the buffalo, but hey, the bear has gotta eat too. The buffalo got away from the bear, but the fish and game had the buffalo put down the next day because of the burns on his legs. (standing in boiling geyser water during very cold weather).

Oh, goodness, that Bison was in bad shape....Thank goodness we reintroduced all those Wolves into Yellowstone! My understanding is the rabbit and squirrel population exploded after that.

I once had some neighbors with a pack of dogs that would chase me down a dirt road nipping at the tires of my pickup, so I just tied a burlap bag in the wheel spokes.
You should have seen what happened when they bit that.

My dad grew up in the mountains of eastern Kentucky around 1920. He said they had trees with ladders and rocks set up along trails to escape the wolves. He spent a few nights trapped while the wolves surrounded his perch. They killed a number of people accordding to him and my gramdmom.

Bite me.
I say, breeding out *wind in your face* from a dog is impossible.

What you don’t know is that around the next bend, there was actually a pack of wolves nearby waiting for their turn with the bison. The only reason I know this is because I work at Yellowstone. ;)
To be fair to the posted story .... the grizz v bison story also needs: *no pix, it didn’t happen caption.* :)

Gosh...it’s just a matter of luck I think. And being in the right place, right time.
What is so unusual, is the cat looks like she has done that B4.
