The News IQ Quiz (Are you smarter than Candy Crowley? How about Alan Colmes? Juan Williams?)
Pew ^ | 18 JUN 13 | Pew

Posted on 06/19/2013 4:30:02 AM PDT by Islander7

Do you know more about the news than the average American?

Test your knowledge of prominent people and major events in the news, by taking our short 13-question quiz. Then see how you did in comparison with 1,041 randomly sampled adults asked the same questions in a national survey conducted online Jan. 18-24 by the Pew Research Center. The new survey includes a mixture of multiple-choice questions using photographs, maps and symbols.

When you finish, you will be able to compare your News IQ with the average American, as well as with the scores of college graduates and those who didn’t attend college; with men and women; and with people your age as well as other ages.

12 questions on current events and noteworthy people. No registration necessary.

I scored better than 92% who took the test. I'm sure most FReepers will ace this. Lefties, not so much.

A colostomy bag is smarter than Juan Williams and Alan Colmes combined

“You answered 13 of 13 questions correctly along with 8% of responders.”

Pretty easy quiz. I bet most Freepers would do about the same.

After taking the quiz, read the analysis of results:

I missed the last 3 questions.

By the way these idiots mentioned Juan Williams ,Allan Colmes , and Candy Crowley should pass this test easily, as it is their job to know the answers to this test.

Ask them some questions on the area of my or anyone else’s, expertise and let’s see how they make out.

Interesting. I scored 100 and it wasn’t even difficult. The funny thing is that it is mostly visual recognition and I have not had TV in 16 years.

I was surprised to get 13 of 13 - I usually read the articles, rather than look at the pictures.

I wish every quiz I ever took was that easy.

Same here. However, I don’t think I’m particularly smart on this stuff. Rather, if only 8% can get those questions, and a significant percentage got less than half, we have a lot of people that are, well, kinda ignorant on some very basic stuff.

I don’t even have TV. Almost ALL of my news comes from FR and that isn’t even visual, yet this thing was still a piece of cacke.

Me too, which makes me a median Freeper.

Somehow, I’m guessing that the median among Obama voters is about 4.

The funny thing is that it is mostly visual recognition

I thought that was rather odd - no substance, just recognition.

12 of 13 correct. I get all my news from FR, Drudge, Rush, and Breitbart. I haven’t lived in the USA for fifteen years.

I only got one wrong and quite frankly, I’m extremely proud of the fact that I didn’t recognize the “blue-bird” corporate logo.
