A Christian group that once promoted therapy to encourage gays and lesbians to overcome their sexual preferences has closed its doors and apologized to homosexuals, acknowledging its mission had been hurtful and ignorant.
Exodus International billed itself as the oldest and largest Christian ministry dealing with faith and homosexuality, operating since 1976. It announced it would cease operations in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

Just listened to an interview with one of the principals Exodus VP Randy Thomas of this group on a Catholic Radio Station. This is what I got out of it. Seems they think(Randy and others in their group) that their group mission wasnt’ focused enough on Christ, the good news and salvation but on changing the homosexual. They, in some circles, were viewed of being a characterization of what the homosexuals say or demonize about them/Christians. The focus wasn’t on Christ nor chastity but changing the homosexual through “...sexual orientation change efforts and reparative theories about sexual orientation that stigmatized parents.”
In contrast, Catholicism preaches chastity for all and love of the sinner, and hate the sin... but not necessarily a church factory dedicated to obliterating homosexual thoughts and tendencies —homosexual deconstruction. Forgive me, and thankfully, I am not a expert on this topic.
Look elsewhere for that!

Not exactly. A sex addict of any sexual orientation should be able to get treatment from a mainstream psychiatrist (I assume that’s what you mean by a heterosexual wanting treatment for being “too sexual”). However, if the heterosexual expressed a desire to change his/her sexual orientation to homosexual, he/she would be told, truthfully, that that’s impossible. Treating sex addiction and changing sexual orientation are tow different things.

But they don’t matter to homosexual activists and lefties. All they focus on are the “failures”. There could be hundreds of thousands of happily married ex-gays with children, yet it only takes one or two who fall back to “discredit” them all.
There needs to be some work lookig back at the homosexuals/lesbians relationships with their parents especially their fathers. The father is truly the head of the family. If there was a Christian approach of forgiveness for failings of the parents, I believe that this can be a way to reach these people.
It is about Christian healing which always involves forgiveness and asking God to forgive our resentments. This is a spiritual problem that has to be dealt with at the root of the problem.
