Computer from ‘WarGames’ going up for sale

Good news for anyone looking to buy a computer capable of starting World War III. One of the computers used in the 1983 film "WarGames" is going up for sale, IT World reports.

"WarGames," the classic hacker flick starring Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy, told the story of a high school student and computer genius (Broderick) who hacks into a military computer that controls the U.S. nuclear missile supply.

I think the “WOPR” was IBM’s first attempt at a “laptop” computer.

But even the WOPR is no comparison to the computer of The Sea View!

The SeaView's computer ruled! I'm not sure if any since have been more powerful. I mean, the blinking lights alone.

I imagine these days your home computer cell phone could run rings around WOPR in a test of computing power.

I saw that movie more than a few times when it came out (I remember it was playing at the same time as “Risky Business”, which I really wanted to see, but I was just 9, so...). I never did find her attractive, perhaps her weird teeth. She was also too old for “The Breakfast Club” (actually, aside from Ringwald and Hall, they were all too old). Then again, she was probably too old for WG.
