With the frenzy surrounding the George Zimmerman trial continually growing, CNN last night hosted a panel discussion on the use of the derogatory “n-word” versus “cracker,” asking “Which is worse?” in light of star witness Rachel Jeantel‘s claim that the late Trayvon Martin said he was being followed by a “crazy-ass cracker” the night of his own murder.
Don Lemon, who has taken up the mantle of exploring the “n-word” and its ramifications on CNN this past week, played moderator to the debate featuring Marc Lamont Hill, actor LeVar Burton, musician Wynton Marsalis, activist Tim Wise, editor Michael Skolnik, and filmmaker Rochelle Oliver.
Despite the segment’s open-ended question headline, the panelists all seemed to agree that the “n-word” is far worse than “cracker,” given the fact that “black and white are not the same,” and one has a deep history rooted in oppression whereas the other derogatory phrase references white people’s position of power.
Although the segment aimed in earnest for a serious discussion on the two phrases, Twitter comments indicate the the premise left many wondering: What more was needed to be said when the segment’s own title clearly spells out one word while purposely avoiding spelling out the other?

I used to live in central Florida, and the negroes at my school would on average, call me a cracker 100 times a day; I refuse to ride the bus because these negroes would smoke pot, cigarettes, stomp on the floor; yell and scream, drink booze, and disrespect the bus driver and every “cracker” they thought they could intimidate without consequence. To say that Cracker is less offensive than nigger is offensive. That slug negro on the witness stand at the Zimmerman trial is the problem, she can only mumble while giving her street attitude-—sick young hag, and has a 3rd grade at best, education which her parent (single welfare porker mom) should be made to pay the difference, since she clearly took up 9 grades of space someone else’s rear could have inhabited.

We can call you a stupid Irishman and we can all laugh because every liberal knows you're not black, that you're actually white so it's not possible for you to be stupid.
If somebody says to you "hey, is that your $10 bill on the ground there?" and you look but nothing's there and we all laugh. It's okay. Just a joke. You're a grown-up.

CNN and liberals see the black race as helpless and needing the "white superior race" in order to survive.
That is an affirmative action statement, and I beg to differ. Is it also worse to commit any other offense against a black person than a white person, on the grounds that blacks have suffered more offenses than whites in the past? No. All similar offenses are equal, regardless of their targets' particular identities.
Any racially-derogatory epithet should be equally frowned upon if we are to preserve a civil and just society. To have lower standards for one group and higher standards for another is patronizing at best and discriminatory at worst. Free people should live by the same rules in a just society.

So then either liberals are racists or blacks are inferior.
Since I know Africans possessed of very high intelligence and work ethics that would make a Calvinist blush with shame, I don't think it is the latter.
Perhaps it is a consequence of liberals whose policies, steeped in racism, seem to reward ignorance and sloth and thereby perpetuate it.
I don't think it would be out of bounds to suggest that the DNC operates a high tech plantation.

They are both only words. One uses it to communicate, one hears it and infers the meaning, and makes judgements about, the speaker. If you want a fight you can always find a reason.
