Some 50 poisoned meatballs have been found so far in Twin Peaks and Diamond Heights neighborhoods, and more have reportedly have been found in Cole Valley, the Lower Haight and Glen Park.
Warning signs were posted Friday in the Twin Peaks neighborhood Friday urging animals owners to be extra vigilant after a dog became sick from eating the poisoned meatballs.
The meatballs have red and green bits in them that look like strychnine used to kill gophers and very dangerous for dogs.
"It causes very severe seizures which have to be treated very aggressively, and seizures when they start to stack up on one another are very dangerous," said Animal Internal Medicine and Specialty Services clinic veterinarian Carrie Jurney.
A 7-year-old dachshund named Oskar was still in critical condition Friday night after eating the toxic food.
A skunk, a raccoon and two feral cats have also died.
Animal Control Capt. Vicky Guldbech said the poisoning is a misdemeanor and convictions are rare.
"I want this person caught," said Guldbech. "I want this to be stopped. We love our animals. It's a shame; they have no right to hurt our animals."
Stephen Marusic said Friday afternoon as he walked his German shepherd that he's very nervous.
"This is sick, a sick person is doing this," Marusic said.
KTVU has received unconfirmed reports of poison meatballs found in the Lower Haight, Cole Valley, Hayes Valley and Diamond Heights neighborhoods.
"Somebody's trying to poison the coyotes, they're doing all the places where the coyotes are," Marusic said.
I think there is an option on the mouse that will have it “double-click” if that is checked.
You should be able to see it in the mouse tab in control settings.
Ammo has been pretty high priced lately.
There is also a folder option that can set file opening to One-click, or Two....Maybe that is set to One-click...
That’s what I’m thinking. Seriously I hope they catch the perp. I had a dog that was poisoned by a neighbor back in 1972 while I was in basic training. My family was afraid to tell me about it until I came home on leave. If I could have been completely sure which neighbor it was, (I was 90% sure), I would have gone to jail that day. And the neighbor would have parked close to the door at the grocery store for the rest of his life.
I’ll bet the meatballs are halal
hiccups.
Should cook the meatballs, boil spaghetti, plate the pasta and set the entrees around the Castro Street area.
“Could this be a secret police operation...”
I thought the saaaaame thing.
Is their a 3 day session in the police academies on shooting dogs?
Sorry.....
I’m a one trick pony on double posts.
Well, two tricks.
Don’t hit the “X Stop” icon if you use IE 10 and get tired of watching it spin.
That causes a double post, too.
Hope you solve it.
