However the civilization that built the pyramids is long dead. The current arabs inhabiting Egypt were foreign invaders.The civilization which built the pyramids in Egypt isn't dead. They were absorbed into the Roman Empire, and later became Christian in religion, finally becoming a part of the eastern half of the Roman Empire, when that entity became the only vestige left of what the Romans had created in the Mediterranean Basin, which today is referred to as the Byzantine Empire. The descendants of those who built the pyramids are those we call today, the Coptic Christians of Egypt...
