Yes. I read the book. But, I’m not going to tell you who, of course. That would ruin it for you. :o)
I only watched the first episode, in came the token lesbo couple, I said, no more. I am not watching any programs with homo crap in them.
Modern drama is based on the idea that no one is a good guy.
I rather enjoy the show. Don’t know the background if the probable former SPECOPS guy but he seems to be the only good guy.
SKROO Stephen King!
I can say that.
I’m copyrighted...
;-)
If that show had any kind of logic, they would have construction crews working 24/7 outside the dome trying to smash through it and/or dig under it. But instead everyone outside just stands around picking their butt.
The book was awesome and I’m excited to watch this entire series.
However, in the book, I don’t remember the main guy (Army Captain Dale “Barbie” Barbara) being a bad guy or killing someone...
And as with the majority of Stephen Kings works....there is ALWAYS evil at the center of every plot.
The ONLY thing I object to thus far in this tv series, is the gay couple at the bar, that got stranded in town. Really? Is it relevant to the story to have a gay couple? I think not. Pathetic, they just HAVE to push their agenda, don’ they?
The whole show is a joke (seen all 3 episodes). The plot makes no sense, the actors are clichéd characters with horrible acting, and the holes in it are big enough for the entire town to escape out of.
Rachelle Lefevre is hot, but the show is largely boring with forgettable characters that you have no emotional investment in. Bad soap opera. They should’ve done it as a movie if they were to do it at all.
This show sounds like it’s to help ObamaCare ,LOL
I’m a big Stephen King fan. If I was ranking his books from best to worst “Under the Dome” would be just above the middle, barely.
Some thoughts:
Homo couple wasn’t in the book.
Barbie didn’t kill anyone in the beginning.
The Pastor is a more “fundamentalist” in the book. He is a bad guy. There is a “good” pastor in the book. She leads the First Congregational Church but secretly no longers believes in God.
The dead Police Chief’s wife is a fairly major character in the book. Seems to be replaced by the female deputy in the show.
The military is much more active in the book than the show so far.
Seems that SK has become even more lefty since he wrote his book. Pity.
I just saw The Simpsons Movie for the first time (despite being kind of a fan of the TV show, I just never had the opportunity before) an hour ago.
Anyway, the plot to the Simpsons Movie seems to have been pretty much the same.
Spoiler request: Do they ever get out? Do they find out where it came from?
I really liked the premise, the idea of a group of people being secluded as if in a fishbowl away from the rest of society.
The storyline however goes adrift into various conspiracies, a kidnapping, etc. I’m somewhat interested in some of the characters, curious to see what happens to them since I’ve invested about 3 episodes of my time into it.
In a way this one reminds me of another series that was on ABC. I forgot the title, but the storyline was that everyone on Earth had an unexplainable black-out for a few minutes. Drew me in, much the same as Under The Dome, but I missed a few episodes and then it was taken off the air.
I’d argue each of these stories would be better served as a movie/made for tv movie.
Maybe that is why they were ‘domed’ — so they would no longer contaminate the rest of society.

I chuckled at the graphic of the young beef (bull) being sliced by the dome. A bovine’s innards look nothing like what they showed.
Deputy Esquivel is a hero—what do you mean, she’s not to bad?
I said to my wife when watching, “why can’t the city under the dome be Washington, D.C.?”
It’s an incredibly schlocky and poorly-acted show. The highlight for me so far was when the corrupt preacher clumsily—and totally implausibly—set Duke’s house on fire. And the pathetic in-your-face moralizing about the lesbian parents couldn’t be more propagandistic.
"The Walking Dead" has been mostly unwatchable to me. How can these slow-moving easily killed zombies take over the world, when a small group of people can so easily kill and evade them? The movie "28 Days" with their lightning fast zombies were more believable.
"Falling Skies" depending on the episode, is watchable. Some episodes are soap opera, others have a lot of points of interest. Thought this week episode was the finale with all the changes that occurred. Although, I'm getting really tired of the Mason? family drama.
