Sorry, Ben Carson may be "intelligent" but he is still a moron. On Hannity he just said that GZ should have had a taser instead of a gun. He alsothinks it was 2nd or 3nd degree murder.
This follows comments by his that the 2A perhaps should be restricted by zip code.
A lot of people may be a fan of this guy, but he is clueless to issues regarding the Constitution, self defense or the 2A.

I am flabbergasted how any body can read the Florida Criminal statue and come to the conclusion that 2nd murder or manslaughter applies.

Reading the statute or not. If a guy is bashing your head against the ground, breaking your nose and reaching for your weapon, it is illogical and ignorant to say that it is not purely self-defense.

He’s being naive by choice. One needs to have a backbone to be forthcoming with ‘an opinion’ that many don’t want to hear.
And often, Tasers don't work. You've got one shot, and if one of your two electrodes misses, you're SOL.
Not to mention, if someone is on drugs, a Taser cannot compare to the devastating and incapacitating damage to soft tissue, nerves and organs effected by a jacketed hollow point round.
