Chicago Firearms Confiscation Begins
The Truth About Guns ^ | July 28, 2013 | Nick Leghorn

Posted on 07/28/2013 1:18:22 PM PDT by Kip Russell

There’s a good reason that law abiding gun owners don’t want their names on a national gun registry — namely, registration leads to confiscation. Gun control advocates immediately spout that “no one wants to take your guns” and other assorted platitudes designed to comfort gun owners about the prospect of being treated like sex offenders. And yet, from the city of Chicago comes a story of exactly that: registered gun owners having their guns confiscated . . .

In Illinois, gun owners are required to get a Firearms Owners ID card, or FOID. It’s good for 10 years, and then you need to it. But if you don’t renew your card, or if you do something that displeases the powers that be, your FOID is NULL and VOID. Which means you can’t own guns legally.

Cook County police officers have become increasingly worried that when someone’s FOID card is revoked, their guns aren’t instantly confiscated. So they’re doing exactly what gun control advocates have said that registration would never result in — door to door confiscation.

I can’t imagine living in a crap hole like Illinois.

Ya Rhambo is prolly feeling the same way after getting his bonds beetoch slapped 3 notches the same day Detroit declared Bankruptcy. And the State House must be proud of losing Catepillar, and other hits and I am sure more hits will be coming...

You’re right. Lifelong inhabitant. It is a crap hole.
It’s evolving into a nightmare I couldn’t have dreamed of
when I was a young adult in the mid 70’s.

Crook county runs the whole state unfortunately.
Land of Lincoln still on the license plates!
I have been looking with the wife (yes, we’re hetero,
Catholic conservatives, whose families have always
voted Republican!) to settle south now that we’re getting close to
retirement. It’s been a battle that seems hopeless.
Most of the Republicans in Illinois are spineless get alongs
who are democrat lite.
Our niece lives in Texas and believe me, a number of the
rust belt refugees heading your way are not all liberal
parasites who destroyed their present host and are moving on.
We would work vigilantly having witnessed this lunacy to keep
it from spreading.

“Taking guns from law abiding citizens is a lot easier if the fuzz has a list!!”

Taking guns from law abiding citizens is a lot easier than fighting crime by going after violent criminals.

I’m in Texas and we keep thinking about moving to a small town in another southern state. There are two things wrong with Texas. The heat and property taxes. We’ll probably have to get past that and find a small town in Texas.

You would be most welcome in Texas. We have a way of dealing with parasites. We make them live in Austin.

This will lead to every police officer or vehicle being attacked randomly, and constantly.

If you're right, then in the next few months we will see reports of thousands of Illinois policeman being constantly attacked.

If you're wrong, we won't.

I suspect you're wrong. Time will tell.

Every? Probably won't happen to a single one (for this reason). The people are pacified and neutered.

If el president and el jefe Obama orders the military to intervene it will be the lower ranks that will turn on the political generals and join the overthrow of this historically evil regime.

According to this article, at least one of the FOID’s was revoked because the holder was “suicidal”. In another case, the holder was “involved” in a drug case. So far no mention of someone who forgot to renew. I’m guessing that most of these revocations were administrative based on a police or medical report - no judical process involved. In other words, the system is working exactly as the gun grabbers intended.
