Target: Jim Irvine, President of the Buckeye Firearms Association Goal: Condemn the Buckeye Firearms Association for raising money to rearm George Zimmerman Recently, George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin, a young African-American youth. Due to the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law, Zimmerman was acquitted on grounds of self defense. All evidence of the trial is being held by the Justice Department, including Zimmerman’s firearm. Now, an Ohio pro-gun group, Buckeye Firearms Association, has started a fundraiser called “The Zimmerman Second Amendment Fund,” which aims to gather donations in an effort to purchase Zimmerman a new firearm and other equipment.

Instead of leaving a comment, I think I might just buy a new gun from them.

Was stand your ground an issue here?

I don’t remember that being part of the defense.

Due to the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law fact that Martin was on top of Zimmerman pounding his head against the sidewalk, Zimmerman was acquitted on grounds of self defense.

There, fixed it.

If you say it often enough, it becomes the truth. Or something like that. It seems to work for obama, Holder, Hillary, Nancy, the Reverends, etc.

I think it was included in the instructions to the jury once they started deliberating, but not one of them has mentioned it as a factor up to this point.

George needs a weapon now more than ever.

He has a target on his back.

That is NOT TRUE. SYG never entered into the trial. In fact it was never mentioned. GZ was charged and acquitted of second degree murder. Period.

The cop in Texas that stopped George for speeding (and somehow the cop wanted his 15 minutes of fame) said that George told him at the start of the stop that he was licensed to carry a weapon and was carrying one at the time. (I’m guessing those are the rules in Texas.)

George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin, a young African-American youth.
Young enough that he needed adult supervision, which was not forthcoming from the engaged couple in whose house he was temporarily abiding.

In consequence of the lack of adult male supervision, he was left to his own devices and made the egregiously rude and vicious choice of lying in wait for an adult and committing assault and battery on one of his elders. He would have gotten away with it, too - but he failed to quit while the quitting was good. When John Good, another of his elders, told him to quit, he continued. In consequence Mr. Zimmerman found it necessary to defend his own life by shooting him.
The “young youth” never learned that might didn’t make right - but he learned, briefly, that “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.”

That cop is being investigated because he took a pic of GZ with his cellphone and sent it out.

it was included in the instructions to the jury ..
Yes it was, by a judge who wanted to somehow attach ‘stand your ground’ to a trail that wasn’t going the way she wanted. Stand your ground is a defense against ‘duty to retreat’ as a determinant of unlawful death. The defense, however, never brought it in to the trail because it was not applicable in a situation where the defendant was being held down on his back; how could he retreat?
The judges action makes no more sense that her incorporating the designated hitter rule into her instructions, pure theater.

Thanks. I just went to find out more. It is pretty amazing the comments on some of those articles.

I liked the one that said something like “Zimmerman will await the True justice of God. But I sure hope he f&%$’s with some bad ass here on earth first and the motherf&%$# dies in agony.” (I always love comments that invoke the power of God Almighty, combined with numerous cuss words!)

Another one said that they hoped a gang would come along and kill Zimmerman. (Hmm - a gang full of Obamason’s?).

The comments that I saw on this article nailed the author for being ignorant and illogical.

Truth is irrelevant to these people. They know they are lying, but they also know that the MSM will give them sufficient cover and that the low-information voters don’t know and don’t care.
