Survivor: Blood vs. Water is the 27th season of Survivor. It begins Wednesday, September 18, 2013 on CBS at 8/7c with a special 90 minute episode.
Redemption Island returns, but with a twist: remaining players will be forced to choose whether to "save" their partner on Redemption Island and switch places with them, thus allowing their partner to immediately re-enter the game, or leave them in exile to survive on their own.
As with the last two seasons, this season takes place in the Philippines, but in a different location: Palaui Island, Cagayan.

Aras who? JP’s right. I remember the name but can’t for the life of me remember him. I’ve already marked his brother off my list with him right off the bat talking about his heroin addiction that was like 20-something years ago and thinking he’s God’s gift to women... Yikes, I just saw he is only 33. Kids, just say no. Drugs will put some serious age on you.
Rupert! Yea! Glad to see him back but JP isn’t much impressed with his wife.
Glad to see Tina back and hope she goes far but not so sure about her daughter. This one is a wait and see.
Barbie and Ken. I vaguely remember whatshername’s face but can’t remember her name.
Kat and Hayden... not even going to go there.
Tyson and girlfriend. I remember him but can’t remember how he played other than something about “geez, Tyson, how could you have made that dumb move.”
Gervase and niece - Oooooh, JP, that’s racist! I can’t believe he said the black dude is lazy whether it’s true or not.
Laura and daughter seem ok. I just hope she doesn’t play the poor single mom card.
Ahhh, isn’t that special that Colton has his fiance. Please, Karma, don’t let these love birds get to merge and share the shelter.
JP isn’t too hot on Monica and it sounds like her NFL husband might get voted off early, too.
Haha, the barrel rolling challenge should be hilarious. Poor player who’s in the barrel. Hmm, I dunno about the physical challenge with the loved ones going after it. As others’ have said the title might be better as Breakup Island. Hope there are more new and different challenges. RI seems like it’s going to be even longer for the viewers what with the possible, “no, honey, I’ll take your place” and giving away II clues.
I’m guessing rule #1 will be do NOT let a pair make it to merge.
Well, that went about as I expected it. The return players have the advantage - but do they.
From the previews it looks like the old Colton is back.
If the return players let him survive past their first tribal vote it all on them.........
What a bonehead move on Rupert’s part. Is he going to spend his whole time on the island trying to protect his wife at the expense of his team???
We’ll find out next week how far the producers are willing to bend over to keep bonehead Rupert in the game. Will the challenge favor him or the girls?
I suspect that they will want him around awhile for ratings so it will be a strength challenge.
Looks to be some kind of balance challenge at RI next week.
Rupert may be taking the walk of defeat.
Wouldn’t it be sweet if Rupert took the walk of shame and Gervais is sent to EI to face off with Marissa???
I loved the scene of Colton’s fiancee helping him out of the boat. It looks like he will be having his period next week.
It appears that this season will be the testosterone alliance of the red team versus the headstrong women of the orange team.
Yeah, a balancing challenge is more of a female challenge as long as she can keep her arm muscle tensed. Dumb move on Rupert’s part. I’m sure he wanted his wife to have a Survivor experience but he’s not doing himself any favors. Too funny he’s being lazy and letting Candice do all the work.
Not good that the teams don’t start off with equal numbers of m/f because it’ll turn into a battle of the sexes (which it immediately did) and the one with the numbers will wipe out the other for no good reason. I’m already confused as who’s who on Team Testosterone.
Speaking of no good reason, they kept Katie and sent Gervase’s neice to RI. Wow, she was 9 when the show started!
Aras’ brother is still preaching his heroin addiction. Woohoo, look at MEEEE! Hmmmm, isn’t he the one who’s attached himself to Colton’s “fiance”? Typical that Colton is already blubbering and everyone rushes to give him attention points. Drama queens. Ha, like anyone believed Colton had changed his stripes. Heeeee’s baaaaack.
Mark should have bought himself an island and built a permenant set. It would have been cheaper scouting out new locations (hey, one palm tree looks just like another on tv) and building new sets each season. Didn’t Parvati say the Tribal set took 6 months to build?
Glad Survivor is back and BB is done (blah). Now to get TAR started and the new season of Big Bang. See y’all here next week.

I started watch, saw Colton and his “fiance,” turned it off. I won’t be watching this season. I can’t have that garbage in my living room. Very disappointing.
They’ve had at least one gay person in - I do believe - just about every season of Survivor.
Now they have two but they’ve been split up - and from the previews - which are usually wrong - you will never see them together again until the final reunion show.
Thank God.
I am amazed that apparently no current returning contestant watched Season One. If they had, they would NEVER have put Gervaise in the water.
The guy cannot swim and has the work ethic of a rock. Us old-timers remember that, and apparently nothing has changed.
Yeh — only Aras voted for Gervase and kudos to him for that.
I think that initial vote was an effort to weaken the other team right off the boat. Vote for Candice and hope that John volunteers to take her place on RI — but John didn’t bite.
The other team does the same with Laura B to see if Rupert will take the bait — and he does — leaving the returnees with the weaker team with only two men. That strategy had Tina’s fingerprints all over it and it backfired.

LOL, I hollered at the tv that Geravaise hadn’t learned to swim after all these years. At least a couple of the returnees learned to start a fire. You’d think learning to swim and start a fire would be the first things you’d learn before sending in your application for the show.
Glad I'm not the one in the barrel ... it would not be a pretty sight.
This was an episode on cruise control.
Nothing “unexpected” happened.
Rupert ain’t got no finesse, The Bro’s continue the Bromance and Colton has returned to his old self.
Looks like Tyson takes Rachel(?)’s place and places Candice at risk. Of course Tyson and Candice could win it sending the young one home.
The red team loses two challenges and yet the orange team is weaker because of who the red team votes out. Interesting twist.
They should lose atleast one more so that the orange team has atleast 3 more days to be tormented by Colton.
