The Big Pharaoh, the preeminent Egyptian blogger, tweeted a chart that attempts to map the relations between different groups in the Middle East.
As you can see, it is a convoluted mess. The red lines show who hates whom, the blue lines show who supports whom, and the green lines show who has no clue about a group.
There are a few issues with the chart, some of which were pointed out by readers of the Washington Post.

LOL! What are the odds. It looks remarkably similar to the SoetoroCare flow chart.
There should be a green arrow from the “USA” to every other box
USA Supports Syrian Rebels, Al Qaeda Supports Syrian Rebels, so........... USA Supports Al Qaeda? Ain’t that special.
> There should be a green arrow from the USA to every other box
Except Russia, which should be a “hates” with “(Snowden)” labeling the arrow.
The French aircraft carrier is in France? lol!
What should the US arrow towards Russia be and vice versa?
The facts can be easily discerned if we remember Obama as President bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia and attacking the American people in his speech in Cairo.
Almost everything said by the Obama Administration and the MSM is a lie. The Obama Administration is deliberately funding and creating anti-American Muslim groups in Egypt, Libya Syria and elsewhere. They are undermining American influence and America's friends.
This is simply treason. It is nothing less.
Of course they will not admit this and result is a smoke screen of lies to hide their efforts.
If you want to believe the attack and murder of Americans in Benghazi was simply a spontaneous reaction to an obscure youtube video, go ahead. If you believe U.S. policy is in the best interest of the American people, go ahead. If you want to believe the MSM and the Obama Administration, go ahead. But you will soon find that their lies contradict each other. And you will probably say things in the Middle East are confusing.
> What should the US arrow towards Russia be and vice versa?
US to Russia: Hate (Snowden [an offense for those failing to worship the State])
Russia to US: Indifference (Obama [a joke of a leader])
yeah, the whole attmepted “reset” has been a fiasco. i never understood why we tried so hard to play nicey nice with them when they have shown no interest in reciprocating
I’d love to ask various members of the Democrat party and the MSM when the “Mideast love-in” sparked by Caliph Baraq will begin.
Hey, when the fighting starts, they can scuttle it just as easily in France as anywhere else. Why bother sailing over to Syria?
On the contrary, I think that the Russians have been doing a *very* good job at relations (they /did/ warn us about the Boston bombers) considering the bunch that we have in high office. — Given the patience they’ve shown, I have no problem “playing nice” with them. (Besides, we have enough enemies w/o going out of our way to make more.)
Cute propaganda.
Notice that there is ONE red arrow FROM only ONE country pointing at Israel?
1 Iran “hates” Israel.
There should be 142 red arrows pointed AT Israel, (the number of black-Muslim countries in the UN that have already voted their “hatred” of Israel, PLUS every one of the Muslim terrorist organizations on the list!
And, with Barak Hussein in the WHite HOuse, one more from the US, and arrow another from the GrOPe party.
By the way.
Where is Egypt?
Libya?
Iraq?
....
i agree that we dont give them much to work with (obama, hillary, kerry) but they have never had any intention of being friendly with the west after the soviet collapse. one area we do share a common threat is islamic extremists however, russians are historically paranoid of the west and get great pleasure out of tweaking us whenever the opportunity presents itself. To name a few issues: Missle defense, Iran, Syria, Snowden, European gas pipleines. its clear their interests are not the same as are interests and that is fine. We arent trying to make them enemies, they do that all by themselves. But, my point was the idea that simply caving to them on missle defense and they would jump in our camp was sophmoric. that was our first gesture back when the “reset” stuff started if you recall.
...and some “clear red lines”.
Hamas’ support for the Syrian regime was withdrawn, and Iran punished Hamas by withdrawing cash; rivals of Iran offered to make up the shortfall, and how amazing, there was rapprochement between Iran and Hamas. Hamas’ support for Assad has been semantic only, and not very loud, but Hamas hasn’t supported the rebellion either. Various Palis have had long careers working as brute squads to keep the lid on in Iran itself.
Thanks SeekAndFind.
Also, the Iranians back the Mo’ Bro’hood in Egypt; the MB is not much of a factor in the Syrian conflict (what a surprise).
Qatar was the main sponsor of the most effective of the Syrian rebel groups, as well as Morsi’s gov’t, but the old caliph was deposed (”retired”) and in both cases that stopped.
Al Qaeda in Iraq is an Iranian proxy. There’s a lot of foolishness about the Sunni/Shia split in the world terrorist network; also the Salafists are not some kind of monolithic sect, were not behind Morsi’s rise to power in Egypt, and in fact sided with the new military gov’t there.
Al Qaeda in Africa is aligned with and supplied by Iran.
Israel doesn’t support the rebels in Syria, but does give humanitarian assistance to the wounded, homeless, etc. Israel’s interest lies in the eventual annihilation of Hizbollah, an organization which seems to be missing from this mess.
Thanks
