Duck Dynasty's Si Robertson on Life, Marriage Proposals, and His Unwavering Belief in The Creator
The Christain Post ^ | 1 September, 2013 | Melissa Barnhart

Posted on 09/01/2013 5:02:54 PM PDT by Errant

Silas Merritt Robertson, who's best known as "Uncle Si" on A&E's most watched reality television show "Duck Dynasty" spoke with The Christian Post about his new book, Si-Cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty's Favorite Uncle that will be available on Sept. 3.

Even though Si appears to be someone who could never run out of anecdotal stories – regardless of how exaggerated they might be – he told CP that he didn't want to write a book about his life, because he felt that with having served in the military for 25 years, he hadn't created enough memories with his family to share with his fans.

"I was in the military, so I told my wife that I was never there for the kids when they were growing up. And she said, 'oh yeah you were. Let me go get a photo album.' And she was showing me dressed as a bunny rabbit, rooster, and Santa Claus during Christmas time. Personally, I didn't feel that I was there enough," Si commented.

But with pressure mounting against him, Si finally relented and agreed to write a book about his life.

"They just kept bothering me, so I said, OK."

In his book, Si shares a spattering of stories about his childhood – skipping school to go fishing with his older brothers – and how he managed to earn A's at Louisiana Tech after he skipped most of his classes during an entire semester.

I’ve never seen the program.

I’m downloading the first episode right now. Guess I’ll see what the big deal is.

It’s additive. First time I watched it didn’t seem like much, but I made the mistake of watching it again. Hooked. For me it’s a walk back in time to my beloved South that I still miss so much.

Once you get a feel for the different personalities of the characters, you will appreciate the show even more so. One scene, the company’s coffeemaker broke, so the crew decided to try a coffee shop. That was the episode which hooked me.

Just shows how much the Hollywierd perverts who try to push homosexuality/lesbianism, foul language, and anti-Christian propaganda are lying when they say wholesome, clean, Godly programming won’t sell.

The Robertsons are showing that there are more of us than there are them.

Duck Dynasty Bump!

I’m going to wait and watch a few episodes on Netflix with my mom, next time she comes to visit. She’s in her 70’s and I’m sure she’ll enjoy it. Might give her an excuse to visit more often. :)

last year, May, we were on vacation, staying at a resort in Myrtle Beach. I had to make a conf call, so the kiddo turned on Duck Dynasty. Had never watched it, but absolutely love it now. I think my favorite episode, so far, is when they go to eat donuts.

Just put Uncle Si’s book on my list, right under the new Mark Levin tome.

The dadgummed show is addictive, even with the three and four time reruns. Just good clean family entertainment.

Well, I have to be honest. I downloaded the very first episode and tried skimming it. The film editing sucked. Fast clip editing, random and fast zoom in and out, dizzying swings of the camera. I don’t watch anything, regardless of content, with that sort of film editing. Too damn annoying. When did the film industry come to the conclusion that jerky crap editing is somehow a substitute for quality work?

I’m sure I miss a lot of good programs with good content, but what’s the point? I watch TV to be entertained. Annoying is not in my definition of entertained.

I love DD but even if I did not, I’d be willing to fake it, because its popularity and the values drive liberals insane!!
