Miss Uzbekistan Mystery: Rakhima Ganieva Adds Allure to Miss World 2013

There’s a new face in the Miss World 2013 competition that has sparked the most interesting teaser. Currently trending worldwide is “Miss Uzbekistan mystery” and whether you’re a fan of beauty pageants or not, you’re most likely to be intrigued by this tale. You see, no one knows exactly where Miss Uzbekistan (whose real name is Rakhima Ganieva) came from, and some say she is simply an imposter.

According to the latest panic in the celebration of beauty, charm and talents, there is no Miss Uzbekistan title, competition or title holder. To put it bluntly, they are calling Miss Uzbekistan Rakhima Ganieva a fake.

You can see Miss Uzbekistan on the official Miss World 2013 website along with the other competitors and she appears as any other hopeful beauty pageant winner. While some are angered at the fact that a woman from a predominantly Muslim country that doesn’t hold beauty pageants managed to slip under the ropes, avoid the hoops and land as one of the contestants, others are saying she’s a beautiful girl and wondering what all the hoopla is about.

Is this a story of a gold-digger who wants to make a name for herself by claiming the title of Miss World, or is it the story of a girl who had a lifelong (well, 18-year-old) dream of becoming the most beautiful, alluring and charming girl in the world, but unfortunately she lived in a country that is described by the U.S. government as infringing upon human rights?

Maybe there's a sneaky streak of anarchy in me, but it gives me a chuckle to hear about someone using the rules to game the system. Eddie made me laugh AND made the pompous IOC look like fools. I salute him, you, and this uzbeki girl for your ingenuity!

>>>Uzbekistan is hardly an “Islamic Republic”. It would be more accurate to call it a communist country since it is much closer to its Soviet roots than to its Islamic roots.<<<

In fact there is a struggle for influence between Russia and Saudis, pretty much the same as it is in Syria.

Russians are clearly on top right now, so there are no beheadings yet.

When she registered for Miss World, didn't she have to somehow prove she won her country's pageant?

When Obama registered to run for President, didn't he have to prove his citizenship?

But she's not the Messiah.

Fine, then, next time they have Miss World I’ll walk in and say “I’m Miss Freeperstan, let me compete.”
