I get less than a thou for SS and out of THAT, they take $104.00 for medicare, and an additional $38.00 for the drug suppliment which I bought privately and is taken out automatically

Cheap enough for one old codger, but it doesn't leave much to play with ( we're not cold in the winter, we're fed and the car stays paid for .. etc.) .. but;

I've never read anything here, nor heard anything on the radio about us SS recipients.

Will obamascare force US to pay more than what we're paying now?

I really can't afford any glitch in "the system" especially if it costs more money.

Expect your Medicare premium to rise.

Death panels for you old chap. You have lost your usefulness as a worker bee.

Well if you have a major health issue expect a “death panel” to decide your fate...

You have become a drain on the system, the Proof of Concept stated that anyone outside the age range of 19-40 was a drain and should get the least care.

I just got word on our Medigap policy (United Healthcare through AARP). The price has not gone up but the out of pocket has risen in all catagories — higher co-pays, higher minimums, less coverage. No out of network coverage and no coverage in certain counties in my state. Think auto accidents. Am I going to have to have a tattoo that says “ship me to Milwaukee County” in case of emergency?

Furthermore, I don’t even have a list of who is in network and who is no in network. Makes it hard to plan.

Expect your Medicare premium to rise.

And, your level of care to go down.

With more and more docs dropping Medicare, who/what will be left?

I don’t know about the rest of us “seasoned citizens” but a close friend who is a few years older than me is facing another problem caused by “ObamaCare”.

She moved into this area in 1981 and has had the same doctor ever since. That is until the end of next month. Because of “ObamaCare” he is closing his doors and leaving the medical practice entirely.

So, at age 72 she has to find a new doctor amid all other issues that “ObamaCare” is causing.

SSI and Medicare/Medicaid are essentially socialism

The House should have sent a budget defunding them as well

Honestly, I can not tell you how much you will pay.

Though, I can imagine you won't receive much in the way of care anymore no matter what you pay.

I live part time in an over 55 joint in bad ol Broward county Florida.

I had to take early SS...didnt want to but circumstances were forced on me. I am concerned as you are because at our age we have few choices.

Having said that Im more concerned with the HEALTH of my country, its future and the well being of the younger generation.

The barkeep in one of the saloons I frequent has a masters in something and that is the best job she can find now.

I know guys with families in their 40s that are scared to death about losing their jobs/health ins.

Sad days all around folks.

With respect for your situation, I too am retired now. However, I am more concerned about what my grand daughters will face under the aftermath of this evil tyrant. It consumes me in my dreams.

I’m 59 and ever since my youngest left home my attitude has been to agree with the Apostle Paul: For me to die is gain.

I have not had a physical since my 30’s and other than getting my shoulder fixed and trips to the chyropractor at $25 each. I don’t have much use for health care.

If I get something serious, I’ll die. Big deal. It happens.

obamacare is not for people who worked their lives and now can’t find a job because of their age and have started collecting social security.
It is for people who don’t work, whine a lot about White privilege, and vote democrat.
All others pay through the nose.

You will see more and more Doctors quiting...as Obamacare will flood them with clients...and the Government will not pay them what it costs...so they will just quit...let alone the lawyers are still free to sue them at every corner....our standard of care is going to drop dramatically and fast....government run healthcare is what they voted for and it is what they will get....think the Post Office....terrible
