This past week, Governor Jerry Brown of California signed Bill SB 274. This law now allows children in California to have more than two legal parents, a measure opposed by some conservative groups as an attack on the traditional family. Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) said he authored the measure to address the changes in family structure in California, including situations in which same-sex couples have a child with an opposite-sex biological parent. The law will allow the courts to recognize three or more legal parents so that custody and financial responsibility can be shared by all those involved in the raising of a child, Leno said.
This is going to get,,,complicated. It can be hard enough for one bio Mom to work with one bio Dad about the welfare of a child, now multiply that experience by a presently unknown exponent, and you'll have a vague idea of what the near future will be like for these families.
Some group families may be able to make it work. It can possibly work. People who come from what we used to call 'broken homes' or unstable environments will float into this communal style living quite easily. People who grew up without an active father will be more likely to consider this choice of child rearing. This view of what a family is can work for some, but, were I a parent, I would not want to abdicate my position, pass all my decisions up for 'group review and deliberation'. This can only work if some of the parents knowingly give up certain kinds of authority.
We will see how many young parents are willing to do that. This brings us closer to what Melissa Harris Perry said a few months ago, that 'Our children do not really belong to the family, as they are owned by The State". This is not an exact quote, but I hoped to approximate her message. Some found Ms. Perry's opinion similar to that of a Cold War Socialist State, an accusation she proudly embraced.
If the Clintons move to Cali, Chels can have BJ, Hill, AND Webb.
I would rather see a child being raised in Yemen or Syria than in Commifornia! In all seriousness! That state needs to be completely wiped off the Earth.
Most observant folks already think that was what really happened before poor Mr. Webb accidently ‘gave himself’ a fatal heart attack, hours before he was due to give some ‘interesting’ testimony. When is THAT movie coming out?
Webster Hubbell isn’t dead. Where did you get that story?
He runs this outfit and posts regularly on the website:

Would Brown ever sign legislation giving California three or four governors? Yeah, didn’t think so.
Look he is a noob too
What really ticks me off is that the morons in California have made that joint a paradise for illegal aliens and then they get mad at us here in Arizona because we won’t do the same thing to help take the invasion pressure off of them. They can KMA. It’s their mess, they made it. They can live in it.
Ladies and gentleman of California! A judge is now going to determine if you legally are a parent to a child. What could possibly go wrong with that?
“Mr. Jones, you are not providing proper support to your daughter Debby. I’m afraid we are going to have to garnish some of your wages.”
“Your Honor.....I don’t know this girl. I don’t know her mother. As a matter of fact, I’m a homosexual and have never had sex with a woman or donated sperm.”
“Mr. Jones, the court decides who is a parent, not you. Maybe she’ll send you a Fathers Day card.”
Don’t laugh. I’ve heard of similar real stories just like that one. Many folks still consider any mother to be a totally believable person who could not possibly tell a damaging lie just to fill her coffers.

Could get really complicated: Mom and the ex-husband plus his boyfriend plus the shared partner sheep = Ma, Pa, Wa and Bah!
Opens the door widely for...here it comes.... polygamy.
As predicted here by many on FR.
The “gay marriage won’t lead to polygamy” argument was a lie all along.
Leno and Amaniano (sp) should be coming up for term limits soon, right?
Those two have done the most to F up California for normal people than any other state politician in history.
Hopefully that rule even applies to those two. Unless we get ‘Bloomberged’, we should be rid of both Heckle & Jeckle very soon.
