Department of Defense ^

Posted on 10/10/2013 9:50:46 AM PDT by dokester

A letter from President Obama dated October 1st on the letterhead to government employees on the government shutdown. There is one problem. It was uploaded on September 13th, 2013 to the Department of Defense's website. Check out the URL from the link and you will see the date in this order: 2013/0913.

I don’t understand your point. Two weeks before the end of the fiscal year seems an appropriate time to anticipate a shutdown, particularly given the breakdown in negotiations.

Gotta love that statement, “The Federal Government is America’s largest employer” . . . also notice the evasion of using “the United States of” before the word “America”, which refers to a continent and not a nation.

Their convention seems to be “MMYY” in that part of their address. Here’s another:

So, if they posted the article at midnight on September 30th, that would explain it.

If it's all so appropriate and legitimate, why is it government has totally mismanaged budgets and debts for decades now? Why were they not able to anticipate the obvious?

Wait, you're arguing that Obama couldn't have looked two weeks ahead because government can't look ahead and that's proof that he did look ahead? Am confused.

I don't usually consider the government to be especially well run. BUT a well-run organization would anticipate contingencies and would take proactive steps for possible events.

It might be an evil conspiracy, or it might be a rare streak of decent management.

Could This Be Why Obastard is Being such a Jerk?

The barriers were bought ahead of time, as were the bullets, food and trucks. Das bunker was started a couple of years ago.

If you search thehill.com for ‘government shutdown,’ you find stories that conflate this situation with the debt ceiling and how the Democrats were confident. Those stories were from mid-Sept.

The longer this keeps going, this non-shutdown shutdown, the harder it will be to open it up. People are getting burned right and left already.

Of course it was planned.

The democrats think they won back in the 1995 shutdown, with massive aid from their key ally, Big Media.

They’ve been hoping for a repeat ever since.

They’ve wanted this a long time, but this time the media might not deliver it to them like in 1995.

Check out Obmama’s recent 37% approve rating.

I can’t say what will be the eventual outcome, with talk about Boehner and Ryan caving today, but this time has not been 1995 all over again, like they hoped.

I'm not a computer expert (perhaps one can come along), but isn't this an indication of when the url was created?

I'm thinking of those bozos on Facebook who redesign their website after some tragedy, but the date remains the same. Then some bozo like Alex Jones comes along, and thinks it's an indication that the tragedy was pre-planned.

Actually, I believe the continent is "North America."

The original Constitutional phrase "the united States of America" was actually a reference to the united agreement of the independent States that existed under the Articles of Confederation to form the country named "America" under the new Constitution.

On the other hand, the federal corporation referenced by the 14th Amendment is named the "United States of America" and in it's short version, the "United States."

America was all one land mass (if you don’t count the two pieces of the Panama Canal, it still is), segmented into North, Central and South.

The “United States of America” is also referenced in the Constitution’s preamble.
