This story has a “hold muh beer” ring to it.
Leviticus 20:6 ESV
If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
Burning crosses.
There’s an ugly history of things that have used burning crosses to mean ugly things. The KKK is probably the thing that comes to most contemporary minds in the USA.
A little theological background. The cross, in Christian faith, is the place at which God, in the person of the Son, incarnated as Jesus, paid the price of the sin of the world. It is the bail out to beat all bail outs, basically. So how could such a generous act be twisted into hatred?
Well, I think it’s because of some cursed twisted theology and it has to do with dehumanization of certain persons that they either don’t like for their born characteristics (like black skin) or for beliefs (like Roman Catholicism). Now beliefs can be argued about, but to treat the one you disagree with as a demon... that is beyond the pale of orthodox biblical Christianity, at least. And the idea of black skin as an inherent curse... that’s a theme which is in LDS writings and, until they blessedly repudiated it several years ago, in Baptist doctrine. (I have no grudge about the Baptists — that’s where I currently worship in fact, though at the time in question I did not.)
Anyhow, I hope this blasphemy on the cross comes to an end. God must deeply frown on it. Some Christian denominations like Methodists have a flame on a cross as an emblem but that stands for something benign. In this context it doesn’t mean “burn up our human enemy.”
A fire marshal told Martinez the area where Nielson was setting up the display was not properly ventilated, causing the vapors and Nielsons clothes to ignite.
The area was not properly ventilated? Does that mean this genius was doing this INDOORS?
True, good catch, this looks like it wasn’t even KKK, it was frankly occult and weird. Haven’t seen too many direct blasphemies on Christ in Halloween so far, but that’s only a matter of time. People are getting more ungodly and God is letting them see how their wishes pan out.
bit early for Halloween
Karma’s a beyotch
lol
God is going to give them what they wish for, barbarism
How'd he do in the ratings?
And to use gasoline... what a maroon. There are other adequate fuels for flaming displays (I believe kerosene is used in “fire dance” shows, for instance). But God made him stupid (or rather he made himself stupid by dipping so deep into sin) for this blasphemy.
Yup, He will... it’s sad, but sin cuts off the blessings of so called common sense.
Paging Doctor Darwin, Doctor Charles Darwin...
The Obamamedia will soon be associating him with the Tea Party.
And maybe a bit of "hold muh pointy hood" as well.
