Feds Will Spend $18M to Develop ‘Reliable’ Climate Change Predictions

The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have plans to spend up to $18 million over the next five years to develop “reliable” climate change predictions for the next few decades.

The “funding opportunity enables interagency cooperation on one of the most pressing problems of the millennium: climate change and how it is likely to affect our world,” according to NSF’s official request for bids. …

Current methods of predicting future climate change have proved to be wildly inaccurate. For example, none of the 73 computer models used by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted that there would be no statistically significant global warming for the past 17 years as determined by actual temperature records stored in five different databases worldwide. …

Now that’s $18M down the black hole on a fool’s errand.

The obamacare website started out at a projected $94 mill and ended up being $634 mill and it still does not work. So this will likely end up being more like $200 mill and not work any better than what we have... geezzz

Garbage in, garbage out. If you LIE about the inputs, the results will always be propaganda, no matter what model you use.

This would be better spent getting next week’s weather forecast right. I can think of a few areas which could use a doppler radar, too.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls our climates.

3. The earth is a rock.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

But you can't charge $18M for that, my friend.

For $50 I can draw up a nice chart with the letters BS in it.

Al Gore runs the Climate Reality Project. I wonder how much of that $18 billion will go to him.

Maybe someday the people will get enough and some heads will be on pikes.

Let them start with a model that will accurately predict the weather in one month. If they get that right, then work on the model to accurately predict the weather in six months. Then they can work on climate.

If I had $18 million to blow on building computer models, I’d fund two: a model that tests the economic and quality of life effects of increases in taxes and regulation, and a nice civil war game to practice which strategies and tactics work best for Americans to cut off and contain the unarmed city slicker communists. I’d distribute free copies of that to every gun owner, soldier, and militia member. It’s nice how ‘rats always pack themselves into nice tight disease ridden urban nests. It makes them easier to eradicate.

The sun has started a decades long cycle of hybernation and lower energy output which will result in a cooling cycle which honest evidence already supports. Women and children hardest hit. Now, where is my $18,000,000.00 check?

There will be no “reliable” climate change model. It’s not a model. A model is a reduced-size reproduction of something real.

Climate models are nothing more than computer programs that solve multiple equations, based on input supplied by the users. The equations don’t and can’t accurately model reality, because they omit, simplify and assume.

Climate reality is too complex to be modeled.
