Not a good look, Julianne Hough.
The former 'Dancing with the Stars' pro donned blackface on Friday night as part of her Halloween costume.
The 25-year-old actress was portraying "Orange is the New Black" character Crazy Eyes, played on the hit Netflix series by Uzo Aduba. Hough hit the Casamigos Tequila Halloween Party with a group of friends dressed as the cast of the show.
For the occasion, Hough appears to have darkened the skin on her face and neck, as well as tied up her hair in the characters' signature knotty coiffure. Hough also sported a prison ID with the title "Crazy Eyes."
After uproar began on the internet over her costume choice, Hough apologized.
"I am a huge fan of the show 'Orange is the New Black,' actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created," Hough tweeted. "It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
Who cares?
yes... i do not call this donning a black face... looks like the skin of a Jersey girl...
The onus is always on you to not say or do something that offends me.
But of course we're conservatives, so neither of our opinions matter.

Orange became the new black for the original Willy Wonka movie years ago when the pygamies were replaced with orange faced dwarfs.
And why use Orange? Here is an old, old add from the 1920s or 30s. Guaranteed to make a lib, and others foam at the mouth.

Same here, after 10 minutes I hit stop. Never watched it again. I’m waiting for new season of House of Cards.
She didn’t learn from Ted Danson’s blackface. Not that she was alive then but one would think all of Hollyweird would know the story.
"Blackface" was actual black, with white then added for contrast.
I never thought the PC police would come around to attacking a white person for dressing up black. One of the serious books I enjoyed as a child was "black like me" where a white guy had pigment injections to look black, and went around the country to see what racism was about.
I guess you couldn't do that today.....

I don’t think it is really fair to say it wasn’t “meant to be demeaning”. Yes, it was not meant to make fun of blacks, but the supposedly “accurate” portrayal of blacks was in itself a demeaning characterization. It’s like we see what people of that era really thought of jazz singers — they weren’t trying to demean them, but their impression was demeaning.
But of course, the important point is that what this woman did was not “blackface”, it was “trying to look like a character in a show”, a character who happened to be dark-skinned.
Lots of things offend different people. It must be cool to be in one of the groups for which offense is dealt with. I haven’t seen anybody apologizing for offending people who associate with the tea party.
FOX 44 NEWS Vermont shows black aschool kids putting on white face for Hallowe`en video but they just laugh about it-
