Texans Allege ‘Fishy’ Adjustments By The Patriots
CBS Houston ^

Posted on 12/01/2013 8:42:32 PM PST by Perdogg

The Texans defense struggled against Tom Brady and the Patriots. But then again, who doesn’t?

After the Texans 34-31 loss, defensive end Antonio Smith made it clear he thought Brady had a little extra help in carving up their defense to the tune of 365 passing yards.

LOL, I apologize. I just couldn’t resist it. My calling you and idiot had nothing to do with the facts, that is true. (referring to the facts of the secret cabal that is manipulating referees in real time to call games a certain way to benefit some and not others)

It was uncivil to call you a loser, not because you believe that, but because there was no call for it, to deliberately bait someone.

Your calling me a liberal (a typical ploy I have used on FR on occasion to deliberately anger someone) is simply a knee jerk response to my incivilty, and I excuse you for it, no apology necessary.

Substitute “Mafia” for “elites” in your statement and I’d be inclined to agree.

You too buddy, is it common practice for you to accuse others of beating their wives when they accuse your teams of cheating?

It is common practice to highlight when someone uses the Alinsky technique of throwing out an accusation that the accused has no way to prove is false by providing an accusation in the same vein. Yes. So, in that spirit, when are you going to stop beating your spouse?

There is no good reason to destroy evidence, especially when Congress wants to see it and if the evidence is benign, why destroy it?

“Just violation of stupid rules” is being dismissive.

And it’s a lot different then cap violations.

Underplaying the fact that a team was caught cheating indicates that it wasn’t the first time, nor possibly the last.

“Once a cheater, always a cheater” right?

Why not make the tapes public and let the public decide if the games they are spending $100 a ticket on, plus $8.00 for a beer and $6.00 for a hot dog is legit or not?

Goodell didn’t want those tapes to see the light of day because they would have been damning and damaging to the integrity of the NFL

Billions are bet on the sport, just like Boxing and everyone knows how corrupt that sport has become and has been for many, many years.

It’s about the integrity of the game.

Destroying the evidence speaks volumes, but some people have their hands over their ears and simply don’t want to hear it.

Former 49ers owner was caught trying to bribe a sitting Governor for a Riverboat Gambling license with 400k in cash - if he bribed a sitting Governor, is it beyond the realm of beleivability to think that he just might have greased a few refs palms as well?

And how many teams do we have with cap violations right now?

Violate the cap rules and you lose a draft pick or more.

It’s not something that happens all the time.

Would you excuse similar behavior from the Obama administration?

I didn’t think so.

Actually, the Patriots were investigated for cheating and found guilty, so yes, they are cheaters. They lost a draft pick and Bellichick was fined $500K, so to say I was “throwing out an accusation” is false. They were in fact found to be cheaters by the NFL.

Maybe it’s you who was using the “Alinsky technique.” And, tough guy, I bet it’s really easy for you to accuse people of being wife beaters from the safety and anonymity of the internet. I’d bet you as much as you wanted you wouldn’t dare say that to my face. So, F U, scum.

It’s none of Congress’ business. The fact that Congress started jabbering is a good reason to destroy the “evidence” right there, it’s a good way to tell them to mind their own business.

It’s not being dismissive, it’s putting the situation in scope. Rules get broken in sports, all the time, and when they get caught they get punished. But in the end it’s just sports, it doesn’t actually matter to the world, it doesn’t change anything that’s real or important.

No NOT “once a cheater always a cheater”, that’s a phrase used by morons.

There’s no reason to make the tapes public. For one thing it’s not really their business, for another making them public would further impede the rule that was trying to keep these things unavailable for taped review by coaches (who are part of “public”). And finally if there’s one thing to learn from the Pete Rose apologists it’s that even if you make the evidence public a good chunk of people will still make up their own version of events.

It’s not about the integrity of the game. In the end he violated a rule nobody knew existed, and nobody understood, and then a couple of years later they quietly got rid of the rule.

If the 49ers owner bribed any refs he didn’t get much for it, it’s not like they won the SB that year. And really that whole situation is very much besides the point.

The Cowboys and the Redskins are both being docked salary cap this year for past cap violations. And yes actually it does happen all the time, every couple of years somebody is getting busted, often times the Cowboys who have a fondness for incorrectly structuring bonuses.

And once again you go besides the point. Obama is president, his violations are of the law and Constitution and actually matter in the real world. Sports rule violations don’t.

Brady is certainly the Best of this generation of QB’s and arguable the GOAT, if he wins another SB it won’t be close for Brady as the GOAT.

He has by far the best regular season record for any qb of the modern era and as many playoff wins as Montana with 1 less loss. If he wins a SB he will have 2 more conf championships with the same # of sb wins.

By the end of this season he will possibly be #3 all time in total wins by an NFL qb.

Playoffs:

1 Tom Brady 24 17 7 .708

2 Joe Montana 23 16 7 .696

3 Terry Bradshaw 19 14 5 .737

4 John Elway 21 14 7 .667

5 Brett Favre 24 13 11 .542

6 Troy Aikman 15 11 4 .733

7 Roger Staubach 17 11 6 .647

8 Ben Roethlisberger 14 10 4 .714

Regular Season:

Tom Brady* 2000–present 145 42 .775

Roger Staubach 1969-1979 85 29 .746

Joe Montana 1979-1992 117 47 .713

Peyton Manning 1998-present 164 72 .695

Terry Bradshaw 1970-1983 107 51 .677

Ben Roethlisberger 2004–present 92 46 .667

Brady compares very favorable to ANYONE who has ever played QB in the NFL.

BTW FArve and Manning don’t show up in the playoff rankings due to low winning % same with Farve in the regular season.

Brady has averaged 12.5 wins a year if he plays 4 more years (his goal) he will probably end up with 200 wins. Surpassing Farve (Manning could also surpass Farve if he plays 2 more years). Brady is also the only QB in NFL History with 100 more wins than losses (103 currently) Manning may also reach that level thhough it will take him and extra 60-70 games played to do so.

He destroyed evidence because he knew most of the league did the very same thing. Mangini admitted that they were filming the Pats and got caught the year before. Shanahan hired people in the stands to read lips and give the info to the team ant halftime. Jimmy Johnson said he did the same stuff Belicheck and on and on.

Excuses are for losers and liberals.

I do wish more quarterbacks had a Brady brain

It's not just the Brady brain. It's the Brady brain getting input from Belichek, with his intelligent and sometimes devious ways to play the game. I love the mind game they put together once they've got the opposition figured out.

yes, to be honest, arms, legs, practice, strength, and a brain. A coach can do what a coach does yet when there is the field on which the game is played, the coach is technically on the sidelines only making suggestions. Execution is the key (imho). In spite of all have said favorably am not a fan to be completely honest, but I do respect Brady.

I am talking about the amazingly horrible fumble call that set the Patriots up for a go ahead touchdown. There was also pass interference called on the Dolphins when the defender never even touch the receiver.

It isn’t half-time adjustments. The NFL is rigged in favor of their markee teams.

Bad calls happen. Teams benefit from some, and get jobbed by others. The Pats didn’t used to be a marquee team, heck one of the biggest calls to ever favor them they were playing a marquee team.

Really 2 of the Pats 3 losses were a result of bad/bizzare calls, ie the changed call on Gronkowski in the Panthers game and the call that has only been called once on a Jets FG to give them a second kick....

Excuses are for losers.
