It is common practice to highlight when someone uses the Alinsky technique of throwing out an accusation that the accused has no way to prove is false by providing an accusation in the same vein. Yes. So, in that spirit, when are you going to stop beating your spouse?
There is no good reason to destroy evidence, especially when Congress wants to see it and if the evidence is benign, why destroy it?
“Just violation of stupid rules” is being dismissive.

Goodell didn’t want those tapes to see the light of day because they would have been damning and damaging to the integrity of the NFL

Actually, the Patriots were investigated for cheating and found guilty, so yes, they are cheaters. They lost a draft pick and Bellichick was fined $500K, so to say I was “throwing out an accusation” is false. They were in fact found to be cheaters by the NFL.

It’s none of Congress’ business. The fact that Congress started jabbering is a good reason to destroy the “evidence” right there, it’s a good way to tell them to mind their own business.
It’s not being dismissive, it’s putting the situation in scope. Rules get broken in sports, all the time, and when they get caught they get punished. But in the end it’s just sports, it doesn’t actually matter to the world, it doesn’t change anything that’s real or important.

There’s no reason to make the tapes public. For one thing it’s not really their business, for another making them public would further impede the rule that was trying to keep these things unavailable for taped review by coaches (who are part of “public”). And finally if there’s one thing to learn from the Pete Rose apologists it’s that even if you make the evidence public a good chunk of people will still make up their own version of events.

The Cowboys and the Redskins are both being docked salary cap this year for past cap violations. And yes actually it does happen all the time, every couple of years somebody is getting busted, often times the Cowboys who have a fondness for incorrectly structuring bonuses.
And once again you go besides the point. Obama is president, his violations are of the law and Constitution and actually matter in the real world. Sports rule violations don’t.
Brady is certainly the Best of this generation of QB’s and arguable the GOAT, if he wins another SB it won’t be close for Brady as the GOAT.
He has by far the best regular season record for any qb of the modern era and as many playoff wins as Montana with 1 less loss. If he wins a SB he will have 2 more conf championships with the same # of sb wins.
By the end of this season he will possibly be #3 all time in total wins by an NFL qb.

BTW FArve and Manning don’t show up in the playoff rankings due to low winning % same with Farve in the regular season.
Brady has averaged 12.5 wins a year if he plays 4 more years (his goal) he will probably end up with 200 wins. Surpassing Farve (Manning could also surpass Farve if he plays 2 more years). Brady is also the only QB in NFL History with 100 more wins than losses (103 currently) Manning may also reach that level thhough it will take him and extra 60-70 games played to do so.

It's not just the Brady brain. It's the Brady brain getting input from Belichek, with his intelligent and sometimes devious ways to play the game. I love the mind game they put together once they've got the opposition figured out.
I am talking about the amazingly horrible fumble call that set the Patriots up for a go ahead touchdown. There was also pass interference called on the Dolphins when the defender never even touch the receiver.
It isn’t half-time adjustments. The NFL is rigged in favor of their markee teams.
Bad calls happen. Teams benefit from some, and get jobbed by others. The Pats didn’t used to be a marquee team, heck one of the biggest calls to ever favor them they were playing a marquee team.
Really 2 of the Pats 3 losses were a result of bad/bizzare calls, ie the changed call on Gronkowski in the Panthers game and the call that has only been called once on a Jets FG to give them a second kick....
