Researchers announced today that two men they previously believed to be cured of HIV are now showing traces of the virus in their blood.
Dr. Timothy Henrich, associate professor of infectious diseases at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, announced the resurgence of the virus at an international conference on AIDS research in Florida Thursday, the Boston Globe reported. He said the fact that these two men were showing signs of HIV means that the virus can lurk in places in the body where it is hard to find.
This suggests that we need to look deeper, or we need to be looking in other tissues
the liver, gut, and brain, Henrich said. These are all potential sources, but its very difficult to obtain tissue from these places so we dont do that routinely.

AIDS is a syndrome, clearly a breakdown in the immune system due to risky sexual behavior, malnutrition, poverty, recreational drugs, lifestyle behaviors, etc. But is it actually caused by a virus called HIV?

The hospitals are planning to try that new HIV diet of flounder and pancakes.
They’re the only food items thin enough to slip under the doors of their rooms.
Ohhhhhh.....the homosexuals quit donating to the Democrat party. Need to fire them back up.
“Oh the comments that could be made. But Ill refrain - Ive never been banned here and Im not gonna risk it.”
LOL! But with a ‘big truck’ you aught to be able to go whereever you wish!
I’ve been banned once and suspended twice, it’s not THAT bad(having your comments removed by the Mods sux though)!
“The downside to the heinous crime of buggery.......”
Dung Punchers! The S___ on a Stick crowd!
“Ive been banned once and suspended twice...”
Haha, you’re just bragging! I got suspended once for accusing someone of having their Mom cut the crust off their sandwiches....I thought it was funny.
Since the test for HIV is actually a test for HIV antibodies, what does it mean to suffer a reaccurance of an HIV infection. Antibodies are forever aren’t they?
If they were cured and went out and contracted it again through sex or needles... is that considered a relapse instead of a reoccurance?
This suggests that we need to look deeper...”
Actually, it suggests that guys need to stop f*cking their buddies in the butt.
Now that’s funny.

LOL. You are asking the wrong guy. I don’t believe AIDS is caused by HIV or any other virus. Look for the proof that it is. You won’t find it. AIDS is real. HIV as the cause is just so much baloney.
I think you are correct.
But I also had the thought that even if HIV caused AIDS, by the time you got AIDS, wouldn’t getting rid of HIV be pointless? I mean, even if it caused it, it does not necessarily follow you could undo it by getting rid of HIV from the body. Once its there, its there to stay.
So.. how do you go about curing a syndrome?
Ya.. I was banned once.. Like this name better anyway ;^D
Bwahahaha!!!
An excellent question. It isn't generally asked since the parties most affected are not really interested in the answer.
Since I'm not in that group I will give you my answer:
Give up unprotected anal sex. That will dramatically cut down on your infection rate and your overuse of antibiotics. Doing so might allow your damaged immune system to start to heal itself.
Give up your drugs. They are a big part of the reason you are destroying your immune system.
Give up looking for a cure for HIV. That's not your problem.
This is not the message that the Gay Community and the HIV Research Community want to hear. So, people will keep searching for a "Cure for HIV", keep having sex in a way that makes them highly subject to infections and doing those fun drugs that have the unfortunate side effect of ruining your immune system.
That's just the way life goes in the HIV = AIDS community. Life goes on. It's just shorter for some. For others the research grants don't look like they will ever stop. Why should they? After 30 years of research we still haven't found a cure. We should be good for at least another 30 years.
It depends on your definition. CDC specifically defines AIDS as a syndrome defined by the presence of one or more of 30 independent diseases-when accompanied by a positive result on a test that detects antibodies to HIV. The same disease conditions are not defined as AIDS when the antibody test is negative. Tuberculosis with a positive antibody test is AIDS; tuberculosis with a negative test is just TB.
Really, AIDS isn’t necessarily caused by HIV. AIDS is, like its name says, just a syndrome. An effect. Reading here, you can find several diseases that technically cause AIDS, although the CDC doesn’t call them such. Like the following:
