Things are back to normal, and I'm back home. Love the grandkids, but I can only handle so much of them.

Temperatures are heading down again. Sleet and Snow are on the way again. Please tell me where Globull Warming is again, because our little chill is here again.
Johnny says his is not a normal day. Well I didn't have a normal week. School was closed all week. My grand daughter is a tween, and now suffering from cabin fever, as the snain has been falling for quite some time today.
I am filling up my report with weather, because gardeining is almost totally at a stand still here on the One Acre Ranch deep in the heart of the little chill.
Coming up for Lupper (Late Lunch/Early Supper) is Hash Brown Mix. That's hash browns cooked in fat with all sorts of leftovers-like onions, peppers, ham-anything you need to use up.LOL
My gardening report is simple and dull. I have watered plants, turned grow lights on and off. Inspected the plants, they'll need a bath this weekend. The big excitement was 2 fooled you jalepenos that I picked and added to the pickled pepper jar.
I am hoping for some reports from somewhere of moderate temps, and gardening activites - any pictures of food or flowers would be welcome. If any one is desperately seeking gardening activities for the winter, you might want to check out www.wintersown.org.
They have a method that can get you started very early, and also sometimes some free seeds and small quantities cheap to try out something new. I do not know their religion, politics, or anything else about them, but their method will help you use up those milk jugs you might have been putting off disposing of in the cold weather.

It was sub zero the last week in Vegas, going out now to see what died. Maybe my grapefruit tree. I think I saved my Meyers lemon.

big burning question is why one of my newly planted indoors Amarylis is about a foot taller than the other two.....:)....I wanted to have them all flowering the same time, for effect...

I had been thinking that I might try growing some sort of dwarf orange. The news was reporting on the infestation that is endangering the orange crop in Florida. I love oranges and grapefruit, but Missouri climate is not conducive to citrus growth.
I got nuthin’. Chickens are well, but no eggs now. That’s all the excitement from round here.
Genetics? Slightly different nutrient, sun, water conditions. I truly do not know, but I have noticed that my plants don’t mature all at the same time indoors or outdoors.
I sometimes really really look forward to weekends. LOL
That's the only gardening I've done since October. :)

Got a couple of seed catalogs in the mail. I’ll be browsing through them as soon as cookie baking season and the Christmas holiday is over. The week between Christmas and New Years is when I start thinking of what to plant next spring.
Yeah .. amen to the no eggs ...14 layers, eating like pigs, giving up 2 or 3 a day ... maybe.
We are supposed to get a little more of the little chill. Bummer!
My concern is the ones I grow outside get to be about 5 ft tall, and the leaves grow to 2 ft long. That's a lot of space in my little shotgun shack for this one little rebel.
