German imperialism and the African Holocaust

by Bill Johnson

Published: 28 November 2013 (GMT+10)

Imperialism, or extending a country’s power through military force, drew enormous strength from Darwin’s theory of evolution.1 Many European powers feared losing out in the struggle for existence and earnestly sought to expand their living space by colonizing far and distant places that possessed a wealth of natural resources. One such power was Germany and one place where the natives were murdered and the land plundered was German colonial Africa.

Late-nineteenth-century Germans were influenced by a number of anthropological assumptions, two of which were: (1) White supremacy (on the evolutionary ladder whites were on top and blacks at the bottom), and (2) Ratzel’s Lebensraum theory, the idea that as groups migrate there is a “struggle for space”, which results in the extermination of inferior groups.2 Such a combination had disastrous consequences as Germany colonized parts of the African continent allocated to it at the Berlin Conference of 1884/85.

The Belgians killed sixty million people in the Belgian Congo and made the Germans look like rank amateurs. But since it’s fashionable and trendy to bash the Germans, do proceed.

Of course England colonized India and North America long before Darwin.
Spain colonized the Americas long before Darwin, and millions were killed in the process.
Portugal colonized Africa long before Darwin.
Germany colonized Africa after Darwin.

What can we learn from this?

1. Creationists are dishonest.
2. Darwinist are slower to murder people in colonial schemes than non-Darwinists.

Sorry, but I really don’t work for the Belgian government, the last time I checked.

I’d be willing to bet the Belgians were motivated by Chuck Darwin, as well.

“The Germans, as well as the other European powers, followed a blueprint laid out many decades earlier in Darwin’s writings.”

Very insightful article.

Most importantly, it proves that Charles Darwin and his so-called theory of evolution is directly responsible for atrocities committed during the Age of Imperialism against the African people by the European victims of Darwin.

So.........

... a completely new reason to kill people (Darwinism) is not quite as bad as a much older reason to kill people (i.e. money, greed, selfishness, etc???)

No - sir, Darwinists are dishonest.

Oh, by the way, Darwinists killed 100 million people (Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol-Pot) in the 20th century.

Remember???

They (ahem) made up for “lost time” with a VENGEANCE.

Throw in abortion on top of that, and the Darwinist is the biggest murdering baistage in all of history.

From your FR page, you say:

“Abortion: I don’t know when life starts, until I have a definition of what life is. Lacking confidence in that matter, Abortion should be regulated by the states, like all other medical procedures. To overrule the several bad precedents, Congress should pass judicial regulations, ending federal judicial meddling in state medical regulations.”

.... and you are:

“”Religion. I am a Roman Pagan. I see great commonality between the Christian G-d the Father and Roman Jupiter (Zeus-Pater). I see the Christian Holy Spirit as being analogous to Juno/Hera, the Divine Mother, the Comforter. Roman pagans don’t achieve the forgiveness of sins by the sacrifice of Jesus, rather, we sacrifice portions of animals, (usually by means of the weekend Barbecue). I have especial interest in Vulcan/Hephaestus. I owe the G-ds a life of courage, diligence, and purity, that I may, perhaps, some day be honored among the heroes in Elysium.””

.
.
..
.

You need to repent of your idolatry.

Acts 17:30 “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

To be honest, something happened within unexplored Africa in the 1500s that caused interior tribesmen to flee westward. This caused conflicts with blacks already living there and resulted in wars with those from the interior.

Those interior tribesmen, captured by the coastal people in such wars, were murdered and eaten or sold to various slave ship owners who then shipped them to the Americas.

There were no blacks in South Africa when the Portuguese settled there. It was not until SHAKA sent his impis south driving the other tribes before them that a massive influx of blacks into South Africa began.

The corral of Shaka had a radius of 500 miles around it in which no person was allowed to enter. All those blacks had been driven out.

In the area that became THE ORANGE FREE STATE, was depopulated of blacks by other native chieftans who waged a war of genocide in the area. Whites later settled there because it was an empty area.

As you can see, genocide is not new in Africa.

“1. Creationists are dishonest. 2. Darwinist are slower to murder people in colonial schemes than non-Darwinists.”

How many Creationists or anti-Evolutionist Christians do you know who actually believe in Gal 6:12 [”Kindness unto ALL people ...”] and at the same time preach survival of ‘the fittest’? Darwin had ice water running through his veins, and so did the Crazy Kaiser.

I hope you are simply disingenuous because what kind of brain honestly compares corrupt Spanish conquistadors as the same as modern American Christians?

Speaking for myself and others, many anti-evolutionists are NOT creationists. Many believe in “Intelligent Design”. I myself am not a Creationist because the Sun was not even created until the third day. [Not solar days.] Nor do I think that Genesis is perfectly interpreted. In a later scripture, Egypt allegedly fed the entire earth. I am not an 'Egyptianist' either. An obvious misinterpretation or perhaps a misconception from an ancient viewpoint. But as for Darwinists, 'random selection' is 'out' last I heard since some mutations have been scientifically proven to be 'intuitive'. So the world is still a big darn mystery, 'aint it? I still tend toward Evolution, but at least I know enough to know that NO ONE knows.

Let’s talk about the Macedonian colonization of Asia. Or Egypt’s colonization of Africa. Or Rome’s colonization of Western Europe. Or Khan’s conquests of Eastern Europe. Or Atilla’s ... or Saladin’s ... or the Lakota conquest of the Black Hills ... or the tribal conquests of the Aztecs, the Incas, the Mayans ... Then there’s Shaka Zulu ...

Why single out the Germans? Mao and his ideological brethren slaughtered a lot more than Hitler ever did. And that was in recent memory.

Putz.

The Soviets were communists. The NAZI's were socialists. They killed because of their political beliefs to rid themselves of political opponents or blame others for their own failings. So what if they believed in evolution. So did many allied powers. Your argument is like saying a belief in mathematics, geology, and biology is the basis for murdering others. Putz.

I hope you see the irony I intended.

In my response to the post that was intended by the author and poster to blame all those who are convinced by evidence of Evolution for German cruelty in Africa during the ‘scramble for Africa’, I blamed all those not convinced by evidence for evolution for his dishonesty.

It was intended as a bad example of the method used by the author.

It is vastly unfair to blame Darwin for the acts of Germans after he died. I see it all the time.

Darwin did not have ice water in his veins. He held strongly that it was the duty of those better off to help those less well off, and recognized that social structures would have significant effect on evolutionary fitness.

For example: newborns are significantly less fit than adults for almost all macrocellular species. Yet they have to survive for the species to continue. Social structures explain how that happens with animals, and that nearly always trumps mere form and structure. Humans, having greater ability to form more complex social structures, would have greater ability to overcome our weaknesses in form and structure.

What really bugs me, is people who lump together multiple things they do not like, and assert, without evidence, they must always go together, and then lump together things they do like, and assert (without evidence) that these things must always go together.

In the real works, some Christians accept evolution. Others don’t. Some Christians are Democratic socialists. Other are not. People are amazingly diverse in their ideas, and surprisingly close to identical in their genotype.

This is a ridiculous article. European colonization in Africa began centuries before Darwin lived. So did the mistreatment of Africans. Anyone heard of the slave trade?

The Germans were latecomers and bit players in the colonization game. But they did act like Germans.

Darwin had little to do with it. One of the most horrific wars in history was fought in Germany, well before Darwin - the Thirty Years War. Some areas did not recover to their pre-war population until the 19th Century.
