S.F. airport offers therapy dogs for weary travelers

Weary travelers at San Francisco International Airport can now while away time at the terminal by cavorting with black Labs, Saint Bernards, terriers and other specially trained therapy dogs.

The dogs, introduced by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in early December, are meant to cheer the homesick, the aggravated, the fuming and the just plain bored. Accompanied by their owners, the pups trot through the airport wearing vests reading "Pet Me" in hopes of meeting new friends and experiencing many fascinating new smells.

SFO is not the first airport to let the dogs in. Airports in Los Angeles, Florida and Buffalo, N.Y., also have dogs. So does San Jose.

They should just let passengers enjoy a smoke and a martini... that would help pass the time.

Wife never found a dog not allergic to, if in closed area with one. Call it by any name you want. Not a joke or game to her, does not dislike them just allergic to animals. It’s the real deal, and we work through it. Have animals but not in closed area.

The people who are allergic to dogs should stand back. The muslims who feel dogs are unclean should depart the country.

That’s because there’s no such thing as a “hypoallergenic dog”.

Tests done on homes with Poodles, etc actually found *more* dander.

Portuguese Water Dogs are not hypo, either so I wonder how the thing’s kid deals with that, since she’s supposed to be so allergic.

If stress relief is the objective, I’d prefer to choke the crap out of a liberal. Or two.

It’s not like there’s any shortage of *those* in the bay arena.
