LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Longmont are trying to figure out how a toddler got her hands on marijuana that made her sick.
Two year old Evelyn tested positive for pot and ended up in the hospital but her mother doesnt know how the child came into contact with the now-legal drug.
Evelyns mother, Aida Hernandez, believes the child ate part of a cookie she found on the ground in the grass outside of their apartment.
It was brown, like a chocolate chip cookie, said Hernandez.

Here's the problem I see. Why not just grow it in your back yard or garage or basement.
Could happen. Another kid tossed it (no pun intended) because they did not want their parents finding it? Or some one tossed it there hoping a kid would find it and thought this was a funny joke? There are sick people out there.
She let the kid eat a brown thing found in the grass outside her apartment? It’s a good thing the kid didn’t step in it first.
I don’t see a problem with that, growing it in your own backyard or basement is not harming anyone or affecting anyone in any immediate way. Same for using pot of course, and as for it destroying lives, well there’s thousands of people who probably are using it now and have used it and are still more productive and successful than anyone here on FR. That is a fact. Just like for tobacco and marijuana.
“the girls mother, Aida Hernandez”
we can now close this thread because no more discussion is necessary.
and so it begins...
I agree with you, and nobody should give a rip if I choose to cook meth for my own personal consumption............./s
So you mean the police and other LEOS and military should care if someone chooses to grow marijuana in their own garage or room somewhere? Is that what you are getting at?
“She let the kid eat ....”
Trouble is by the time most two year olds have it to their mouth, it’s history!!!
it's been decades, but I still remember how quick my kids could spot and grab something before I could stop them. It doesn't actually say that she let the kid eat it, she stated that she took it away but the child became sick a half hour later.
“it’s been decades, but I still remember how quick my kids could spot and grab something before I could stop them”
Like cat food? I won’t say to but it happened.
Who I mean
Okay. So my joke didn’t work. I’ll keep my day job. LOL!
“My client merely found the drugs, and was on his way to the police when he was arrested”
There is nothing like retrieving a mashed up June bug from your one year old's mouth.
Maybe. That stuff is pretty pricey though.
So you have no problem with me having a meth lab in my garage, is that what you mean?
They certainly did trust her! /s
Seriously though that's a little odd. Pot is now legal in CO so why would they search the house? If the kid got into some household product and the parent said they didn't know how because they don't have that product in the home would the cops search the house to verify the story?
“It was a Tootsie Roll, mommy.”
“No honey, it was a dog turd.”
