She’s doubling down. Amy Chua, the self-proclaimed “Tiger Mom” who, in 2011, published a book arguing that Chinese women are superior mothers — thus their offspring superior children — has even more to say. In “The Triple Package,” Chua and her husband, co-author Jed Rubenfeld, gather some specious stats and anecdotal evidence to argue that some groups are just superior to others and everyone else is contributing to the downfall of America.

Well, the author is definitely right.
There's more to civilization and success than hitting the books.
IQs are not evenly distributed in the world. Of course, this could just mean that the smart people left Africa.
She left off the black Caribbeans who come to New York City. Smart, savvy, polite, unbelievably hard-working, clean (their cabs are amazing!) and without the notorious chip on the shoulder of your average African American.
I think it means that people who grow up with solid moral values and a clear understanding of where they left and why - are successful and focused. I work with kids, some Asian, and I have seen much in Asian parenting that borders on child abuse.
I do agree with her statement that counter-cultural people who have NOT bought into the 1960s mentality and accompanying cultural aberrations are also on solid ground. The aging 60s folks in these parts (so Cal) have that Land of the Lotus Eaters aura, to me.

Where is that Captain Obvious pic? Anyone with common sense knows this.
Voice inflection and emphasis is part of the linguistic structure of the Chinese dialects and other Asian languages. What sounds like anger and rudeness to the western ear is SOP in the Chinese community where the same sound has a different meaning depending upon how it is pronounced.
She can always move to China if she wants to be with her own kind.

There was a Chinese couple in our community
The mother was so hard on the daughter, demanding she win piano competitions, get all As and basically have no life, that she and her daughter got in an argument in the kitchen and the daughter stabbed her with a kitchen knife. Tiger Mom dead, daughter in jail.
If Chinese mothers are so superior why is China so terrible???

The funny thing is, this is a Chinese mom (Democrat, like most Chinese) married to a Jewish husband (likely Democrat, like most Jews). Would they ever allow large numbers of blacks and hispanics in their schools for their precious mischling? Not likely.
This biggest argument against Tiger Moms is how many of the daughters marry outside their culture. It’s a truly suffocating environment.

Some cultures value the commandment — LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, some prefer to EAT THEIR NEIGHBORS. Are we to believe that one is not superior to the other?
