Bitcoin ATMs are coming to the city. Josh Harvey, co-founder of Lamassu, showed off the first bitcoin dispenser at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show and has found quite a bit of interest for the $5,000 machines. Of course this is not news so here it is in general chit-chat. Bitcoins rise is inevitable and proof once again that you can't stop an idea who's time has come!

“You put in US dollars and receive bitcoins back on your phone.”

It would have been bigger news if it were the other way around.

Educate yourself. Bitcoin transcends nation states, and the ability of politicians to corrupt currencies. Its timing couldn’t be better.

Yep, Mr. Byrne is correct. Companies can’t afford to let the 3-4% slide that credit cards charge merchants. This amount will double profits for corporations with tight margins.
What a wonderful time to be alive to witness this paradigm shift.

That can be arranged. You can get USD back from a company like Coinbase in exchange for Bitcoin. My question is ( watching the rapid growth of Bitcoin) why would you want to do that?

Agree 100%, the timing could not be better. It is like a God sent lifeboat, nothing beastly about it.

Cool! I’ve always wondered what a bitcoin looked like! Are they going to have different denominations? If so, whose pictures will be embossed on the obverses? I propose Jon Von Neumann, J. Presper Eckert and John William Mauchly.

To buy a Snicker bar, say, or rent an apartment. It’s just not that fungible at this point.

It will, and sooner than you think. The misconception is that BC has to be converted int USD for use; not at all.

1 Bitcoin is divisible by 100,000,000 Satoshi ( cents for lack of a better term) that is fungibility my friend.

You won’t have to wait much longer to go to the corner store and pay with Bitcoin. The adoption curve is about to go parabolic!

In 5 years, you'll put in US dollars and receive laughter back on your phone.
