Before you caution me, again, I’m not walking on wet oak leaves. Mine are like yours - everywhere covering the whole upper deck and ground. They do just as yours do - keep falling all the time so I leave them alone except for a path. When it’s dry maybe in late Feb., I can get them up and in the composter.

Alcohol and sugar is basic in cough syrups. Thats all I used for years till my wife started buying store bought stuff.
Greeneyes, I had heard the same thing. Chlorine evaporates, sunshine sterilizes. If you can draw the city water into buckets and wait 24 hours, then water your plants, it is even better. I’ve always had well water so I have no idea what they put in city water.
You should see our stock pile of chicken broth. lol

Thanks for the Ringy Dingy Pingy. Weather has been great here in NW California but I am just getting over my cold and not doing anything except feed the birds. I spent 3 hours in my garden chair soaking up the sunshine today plus a little cleanup here and there. My garlic has recovered from the bear walking on it and the last plants are up. It looks like I have about a 95% success rate and they are healthy. I will fertilize them just before the next rain… if there is a next rain. The common vetch is taking off and averages about 6 or 7 inches tall and is suppressing weed growth. I will pickup a gross of barefoot Sea Scape strawberries early next week at a nearby mom & pop nursery.
Sorry to hear about the bum foot. Not much is worse than not being able to walk.

When we moved, I found the best place to get great moving boxes was my favorite produce market. Around back looking through boxes for the best ones, I noticed how much produce is thrown out. Sometimes it would be whole pallets of stuff, and almost any day there was at least two 5ga buckets full.
I dont know about your part of Tx. but around here there are no, none, 0, zip, produce markets like we were used to. We were used to buildings with a hundred(maybe) varieties of fresh vegetables of fine quality at great prices. If you want to buy vegetables here, it will have to be at a grocery store, or drive 50mi south into Megatropolis where there are a jillion all on one property. Yep, Texas is defiantly a whole ‘nother world.
I like Amaretto, straight, after dinner....sometimes.
I have to admit, you do get treated differently if you are wearing a chef's jacket. ;)
I do need to look around for produce that's being thrown out.

Our daughter used to hate the stuff. One day she came from college and saw the tips growing on the plants, cut a few and has been hooked on broccoli ever since.
