"Finally some rational legislation is passed concerning public servants unlawfully entering another persons property...... Well, Indiana has taken action to recognize the unique character of a citizens home and to ensure that a citizen feels secure in his or her own home against unlawful intrusion by another individual or a public servant.

The law states:
(i) A person is justified in using reasonable force against a public servant if the person reasonably believes the force is necessary to: (1) protect the person or a third person from what the person reasonably believes to be the imminent use of unlawful force; (2) prevent or terminate the public servants unlawful entry of or attack on the persons dwelling, curtilage, or occupied motor vehicle; or (3) prevent or terminate the public servants unlawful trespass on or criminal interference with property lawfully in the persons possession, lawfully in possession of a member of the persons immediate family, or belonging to a person whose property the person has authority to protect.
Self-defense is a natural right; when laws are in place that protect incompetent police by removing ones ability to protect ones self, simply because the aggressor has a badge and a uniform, this is a human rights violation. Indiana is leading the way by recognizing this right and creating legislation to protect it.
Of course cops have already begun to fear monger the passage of this bill, If I pull over a car and I walk up to it and the guy shoots me, hes going to say, Well, he was trying to illegally enter my property, said Joseph Hubbard, 40, president of Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 100. Somebody is going get away with killing a cop because of this law.
How about questioning the immoral laws that you are enforcing in the first place? Or how about sympathizing with the innocent people whose pets and family members have been slain, due to police negligence?

Thumbs up!
Cops have massive backup. Under all but extreme circumstances, there’s no reason for police to use a SWAT assault. Whatever happened to talking people out? Whatever happened to simply waiting, or geting backup and communicating? I mean, if we’re going to talk about cops going home safe at night as being the most important part of their jobs, isn’t negotiation safer than kicking in doors, throwing grenades, shooting dogs and blowing away anyone who twitches?
What are the real goals here?
What about their dogs? Can we shoot their dogs?
I hope we get something like that passed her in texas. I think its unfortunate because there are still good officers out there but so many these days are on some weird ass ego trip and think they can do whatever they please and that they are justified in whatever action they are taking.
We have had thugs break in to peoples houses dressed as police down here and rob and kill them so that will also be something that would affect that aspect I would think. I believe you should be able to protect yourself in your own home against an illegal entry from anyone.
The All Powerful State wants you groveling before it.
That's it ... nothing more and nothing less.
It's not sexy/rock-star/exciting enough.
Whatever happened to simply waiting, or getting backup and communicating?
See the above.

You and I would think that.
What are the real goals here?
Conditioning.

PRECEDENT:
During PROHIBITION years up in the mountains, federal revenue agents were driven off farms here by rocksalt shotgun fire and they never came back. They were searching for stills on all the farms and the first two they tried to step onto they were met with rocksalt. True story. After that they raided only the towns and villages, never the farms again, coz they learned their lesson about the Second Amendment which protects the whole bill of rights. Only the farmers had the guts to stand up to them. My great-grandmother kept a shotgun loaded with rocksalt next to her rocking chair on the front porch just for the occasion.
She always bragged to us when we were children that the revenooers were “so scared of an old lady sitting in a rocking chair with a shotgun fulla rocksalt. I still have that photo of her and her shotgun on the porch.
Bingo; see the brochure linked in post #8.
It was the law in Texas until a few years ago.
How does the rock salt work?
Starting with Ruby Ridge then followed by Waco, the cops no longer wait anyone out. It’s guns blazin’.
If you ever scan that photo, I'd love to see it :-)
Me too! I love tough old broads.
One day I was driving down the road and met a funeral procession. There is no law that says you have to stop. A constable almost hit me head on, forcing me to stop. Then he pulled up next to me and screamed “You sit right effing there and don’t you effing move! You move and I’ll arrest your ass!” Turns out the procession was for a dead cop who died in a car accident while NOT in a pursuit. He was just driving like and idiot and flipped the car. I’ll always hope that fat assed constable gets his one day.
I also remember back when I was a teenager and a deputy sheriff told me “You’re guilty if I say you’re guilty.”

Militarized law enforcement could also accurately be called martial law enforcement.
