Yes is winning.
The UAW retirees are hitting their keyboards tonight...

Should VW unionize in Chattanooga?

yes and then move the plant to mexico
We’ve got some work to do...but I am confident. (in the short run at least)
Eh, they're not moving the plant anywhere. VW wants them to unionize.
This probably won't hurt VW much. It may drive VW prices up a bit, but its a brand that doesn't really compete on price anyway - their customer base is people who are willing to pay a bit extra for "German engineering," but are not quite in the price range of the German luxury makers.
If they do, another car make I will not touch. The owners of the company might be OK, but I will not line the pockets of unions.
Volkswagon is pushing for the union to come in. I doubt they'll pull up stumps and head for Mexico if they win.
“yes and then move the plant to mexico”
VW wants the union, not the workers. A strange situation
“Volkswagon is pushing for the union to come in. I doubt they’ll pull up stumps and head for Mexico if they win.”
VW has already laid out quite a bit of infrastructure in the state as far as suppliers and such. You’re right, they aren’t going anywhere. The move may be a good pre-emptive strategy on the companies part
Not that I was planning to buy a VW anyway, but if I’m going to buy a foreign car, it won’t be one made by the UAW.
Unions are respected by management in Germany. I think VW is unsure on how to deal with workers at a manufacturing facility without working through a union.
im not giving them a choice ;-))
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. (multiple votes using multiple internetz devices are allowed!) And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
Yup, big companies often prefer to deal with the union over the individual. The last union shop I worked in invited the AFL-CIO in to help organize an independent union as a means of keeping the UAW out.
I DO NOT BELIEVE there are nearly that many people still think unions are a good idea. This is a bogus vote! Union members hitting hard.
LOL, it only matters how the actual workers involve vote. Isn’t an online poll kind of ......... well, meaningless?
VW you are dead to me.
Poll has been anti-FReeped!
