Lake of the Ozarks, which is essentially the Osage River, is froze over for the first time I can recall.

This has to be a winter for the ages...

I don’t know what to say. It’s 75 tomorrow, golfing looks good if can get a tee. But then, it’s 115 in June....

115 dry heat isn’t as bad as 115 tropical.

When Lake Superior freezes over I think about the wolves of Isle Royale. They came over to the island when the ice froze and they dined on moose. Now the wolves are dying out due to inbreeding and a genetic defect that affects a bone in the vertebrae. Will new wolves come over this year and take over or will the pack die out and alow the moose to take over?

Can you provide a link for the frozen wave pic?
I’m here in the Chicago area and saw nothing of this anywhere!

Thanks

I did a google image search for “Great Lakes iceberg”

The pictures I posted are actually a number of years old.

My buddy’s brother lost a truck into the ice of Lake Erie at Vermillion during the Winter of 1977. He needs to go back and take a peek.

My grand dad born 18 something in Sarnia talked about the River St. Clair being frozen over and walking to Port Huron.

True, people tell me it’s a “dry heat” all the time. I always say, “Tell that to the turkey in the oven.”

115 in the Philippines must really suck.

Hence the qualifier at the end of my original post (that it might be for the speed at which it occurred). I did read the article and they claimed that superior had never iced over, which isn’t true. I also provided a link to the article I referred to in my next post, you should check it out; it’s worth the two minutes it takes to read anyhow.
